One Week Left !

Already approaching the end of my first week holiday and the beginning of my second and last week of holiday before I fly to Bangkok, Thailand for starting a new page of my university life !

10 days to be exact before my flight on 4th October, but since I am involved in the 3rd IchemE Asia Pacific Students Sports and Career Day, it reduces the number of remaining days available for me to prepare and pack for this journey to Bangkok to about 1 week only.

Task-to-do next week:

Buy all the necessary stuffs and items (Since the allowance is in, I have some money to buy all these necessities for my internship purpose already)
Start packing my luggage.
Get my unkempt hair cut and trim neatly.

It seems there are not much to be done, but indeed there are lots of thing I need to prepare, so 1 week's time is just enough for me.

Started my second drama yesterday and hopefully I can finish it by next week before my trip =)

Will be going back to UTP next Friday for the last-minute badminton practice with my junior partner before going all out in the sports event on Saturday, 1st October. Hopefully can get a medal this time also.. Ganbatte !! ^^

2 Weeks Left Before I Start My Awesome Internship In Thailand !

Finally booked and confirmed my flight to Bangkok, Thailand on 4th October 2011. Which means that only 2 weeks left for me to be in my home sweet home and Malaysia. Within the blink of an eye, it is now approaching to a countdown stage of my remaining days before I start my awesome and much anticipated internship !

Well, though the day is approaching, my preparation for it is not 100% complete yet. Speaking of which, I still need to go to the Royal Thai Embassy in KL tomorrow to collect my visa. And then, I still need to print out all the important and essential documents to be brought to Thailand and also for back-up purposes, not to mention I have not start packing ! Clothes, toiletries, some food and instant noodles (for me to settle down before I can buy those stuffs there) and the list goes on and on.. In simpler words, there are many things to be packed !!

Besides, another much anticipated event that I will be participating is the 3rd IchemE Asia Pacific Students Sports and Career Day that is going to be held on 1st October at Monash University ! Hehe ^^ Still remembering how much fun I had when I first joined this event together with my best friends, achieving good results and all the cheering and excitements that I had been through ! Hopefully this time, I am able to produce good result too :)

Started my drama spree today. Watched 6 episodes continuously, using up the whole afternoon. Haha.. Well, I think I will miss Hong Kong Drama for 7 months, so better don't miss out the chance to catch up with a few latest released Hong Kong drama in these 2 weeks ^^

This is the first drama. Hopefully I got more time to watch a few more in these 2 weeks ! Huhu..

Guess that's all from me this time. Gona spent my remaining days with my dearest family as after this, I will only reunion with them during next year's CNY !! Sobs.. =(

Finished My Third Year Final Exam !!

Yay !!!

Finally it is all over now. Four papers in four days were not easy, but well, I managed to pull through. Now, my mind is extremely relieved as I am done with all the 4 papers for my 3rd year 2nd semester.

Some little review on my performance ? Well, overall it was not too bad, I think should be better than last semester's papers. It is just that I am struggling with time with 2 of the papers but I managed to finish 90% of it I guess, so it shouldn't be a big problem. Hopefully my result will be better this sem.

But all that doesn't matter now as I am somehow bored with Final Exams. This is the 8th Final Exam I am taking in UTP. But for now, I am taking a break !! A break from tests, assignments and Final Exams for 7 months for I will be going for my industrial internship in Thailand !!

I can feel much more freedom from those boring and routine academic stuff. Really need a break from these as they are really sickening.. Haha..

Well, guess that's the update from me. Tomorrow will be going to KL to do my Visa for Thailand, Tuesday will go to buy an insurance coverage and Wednesday will meet our honorable UTP Rector, before I am off to home, leaving UTP for 7 months !! Hehe.. Kind of excited over my internship now.

Little Break For My Study Week

Will be off these coming 3 days from study study and study ! Really need a small break after I have started my study week since last Friday. Had been studying for the past 7 days, mentally a bit bored and tired. Guess a 3-day break to KL would refresh my mind a bit so that after the short rest, I would be able to continue go all out for the remaining of my study.

Well, I can say that I didn't expect I can reach my target set before this one day earlier than expected. Guess that was because I was forced to study most of the time when I was stuck in UTP. What I mean was, well, when you are in UTP, there were really not much thing that you can do, not even sports, as UTP was so deserted and quiet. Most people already gone back for Raya. So, the daily routine was study after woke up, Fb, study, nap, dinner, study again.. But really thanks to that, I managed to reach my target early and got extra time to do extra revision for other subjects.

Phew.. Now I can really relax a bit and really enjoy my holiday in KL.

NO STUDY FOR ME THESE 3 DAYS !!

Study Week AGAIN ??!

Another 14 weeks just gone and passed like that. It's just like the flow of water from a pipe, takes seconds only. Still remembering how I started this semester after a one-week sem break, and now, within the blink of an eye, it ended so fast like the speed of light. And here comes the study week for my 3rd year 2nd semester.

Unbelievable huh? Already finished half of my 4th year in UTP. Kind of missing the moments when we just entered UTP and being naive, always enjoying all the time. The more seniority we get, life tends to be more stressful as we are not only engaging with academic assignments and tests, but we are more emotionally involved especially with our social life and friendship, when we start to be matured and being serious over our socializing life.

Well, enough being sentimental and nostalgic, it is time to move on. Life has to go on and growing and aging is inevitable. So, in simple words, enjoy the real meaning of life when we could, as one day we are going to lose all of them. What lies in us will be those happy moments that you will cherish forever and those sad moments that make us stronger.

Planned to declare my study week starting today but it ended up in vain. Perhaps I am not disciplined enough, but the main reason is I am quite exhausted after working on my assignment till 6am in the morning ! By the time I woke up, half of the day already passed. Afternoon I went to see my lecturer to handle some stuff and had a badminton session in the evening. Well, what worth to be happy about is finally I have done with all the coursework for all my 4 subjects this semester !! TOTALLY DONE ! Just left with study week and Final Exam.

Guess it is not too much if I demand 1 day rest after working on the assignment for hours. Mentally and physically, both need some time to regain some strength on them. And well, guess tomorrow I will be OFFICIALLY starting my study week. Gona stay focus from tomorrow onwards till next Thursday as the 4 days following Thursday will be spent in KL for my cousin wedding and Visa Application. So, as the saying goes, bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian. If I want to enjoy with a peace of mind, I better start tomorrow or else I won't be feeling comfortable mentally.

Confidence and undivided attention is all I need starting tomorrow. Though sometimes the feelings are unbearable when I am alone in my room, no one to talk to, but I believe for the sake of my concentration in study, it is good to be alone also. Well, the situation is not too bad and won't last too long, as it will end very fast, just 1 week. After which, I can enjoy a bit before I go for the Final Exam.

Down Moment

My worries really did realized in the end. All this while I have been worring about my internship in Hiroshima, Japan until the extent that I got the feeling that my internship in Japan will be in vain.

Well, my nightmare really turned out to be a reality now. Really can't imagine this will happen to me. The internship company suddenly changed their mind and they are not accepting any students for internship in their company.

WHAT THE HECK ???!!

Yeah, I am serious. This is serious, it's not any joke. But never in my life did I expect there is such a company out there, behaving so unprofessionally. I don't know what's the reasons behind it, but let me say it, BIOMASS TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH CENTER, I am extremely pissed off by your company and my only impression towards this company is - Extremely SUCKS !!

It is really saddening and disheartening the moment when I heard this bad news. All this while, I am mentally prepared to have intern in Japan, not to mention I have already started spending a lot of time learning Japanese language. But out of a sudden, because of the sudden change in decision, I suffered from the trauma.

Well, I should be thankful as there is one placement in a research lab in Bangkok, Thailand called MTEC. Perhaps this is all arranged by God. Unfortunate things happen to me and at the same time, there is another placement available for me. It is as if all this incidents have been arranged by God. Well, I guess that's what we call as FATE. Things happen for reasons. Looking at the bright side, I may spent less in Bangkok and can save the money for some vacation to places nearby, and I can celebrate my Chinese New Year at home.

I should get over with it as soon as possible. But now I really need some time to recover from the trauma. I am really traumatized by this experience and I hope it won't happen again. Time is always the best healer for my mental wound.

Tired... mentally and physically =(

One Month To Go

Perhaps when you are engaged with enjoying the semester most of the time, you really do not aware the passage of time.
Had a satisfied durian feasting with a gang of friends. Forgot when I last ate durian already. Anyway, it was just simply irresistible !! Yummy ^^

Within the blink of an eye, it is the end of week 11 already, which mean 3 more weeks to end this semester, study week in one month's time and after Final Exam, I will start my brand new journey; going for my 7 months internship !

Speaking of which, I was elated and excited about my internship placement. Well, I got an offer from Biomass Technology Research Center in Hiroshima, Japan. The first dilemma is I am reluctant to accept it in the first place, due to the recent disaster that happened in Japan. I went through a lot of thinking and considerations, with a lot of friends giving advice, and finally I made up my mind to accept the offer. Well, I guess I tok that offer simply because I WANA GO OUT MALAYSIA AND LOOK AT THE OUTSIDE WORLD !! That's the main reason I accepted the offer; to experience different culture and increase my exposure to the outside world.

But nevertheless, I wasn't out of any dilemma and hardships yet. And now I had accepted the offer, I need to proceed with the application of Visa. And that process is very troublesome in which I need to get ready a lot of documents before I can get my Visa. And this is when I am bothered with some worries. What if the company is not willing to provide those documents I needed in time? What if I can't go there to have my internship and neither can I intern in Malaysia since I have rejected a few offers ? What if... ??!!

Well, these things did really trouble me a lot, set aside the problem of learning Japanese language. Thousand of questions in my head I wish to be answered at this moment, as I am so worried about a lot of things.. Well, guess there is no use to be too worried. When the time comes, there is sure a solution to every question in my head. What I really hope is that I can have my internship there and I ask no more than that. Please, I really hope my prayer is answered.

Guess I have poured out some of my discomfort in my heart in this blog temporary. A lot of things lie ahead of me, tests, projects and assignments to be rushed, lots of procedures to be done for my internship and last but not least prepare for the Final Exam. Anyway, I hope I can get a bit of inner peace when I spend this weekend with my beloved family ! Gona be home sweet home tomorrow !! Hehe :)

Can I handle all this in this coming crucial month ? I hope I can.

Be strong and tough to face this crucial and busy month Yi Herng !!

Endure all the hardships and dilemma with patience and perseverance !!

It is approaching the end of my birth month. Kind of sad. Well, a lot of happenings this month, some of them are worth to be remembered, while some of them, I hope I can forget them forever.

Recalling the early birthday celebration with my dearest family and relatives, that was the most unforgettable one. 2 weeks after that, I got a surprise celebration with my dearest friends. I would never forget such great moments shared with my best friends.

Thanks for the heavy treat, and not forgetting the ANGRY BIRD gifts too ^^

Just ended my Unisel run and miraculously, I got the 3rd place. But well, the result did not matter to me that much, what mattered was the fantastic moments with a team of friends cheering and supporting me while I was in play.

Entering week 10 already, another 1 month to go before Final Exam and my internship journey starts. For this moment, I won't think much about it, just want to finish this semester before everything else.

Got some emotional dilemma for this moment. Hopefully I can get through this.

Officially 21 !!

9 July 2011.. Date the marked my age to be 21 officially..

Well, as the previous years, I spend my birthday at home (except for last year). It happens that my previous birthdays fell on semester break, and this year, it falls on mid sem break pulak.. Haha..

Well, I am not complaining anything.. Haha.. The previous year also not much celebration on my birthday, so I am kind of get used to it already. Furthermore my family and relatives have celebrated my birthday in advance last week. Most important is people remember my birthday and I appreciate tremendously all their wishes.

21 years old ! Officially an adult and not a young teenager anymore. As such, I wish nothing more but just that I can always be a happy and cheerful person, less emo moments.. That is all I wish for my birthday. To be patient in friendship and enjoy all happy moments with friends. And besides, perhaps I should also be more confident and optimistic.. Then only it is called "Enjoy Life to the Max !! "

Guess that is it for my birthday post tonight. A brand new beginning starts.. Will start this brand new year with no-ending happiness and optimism ^^

Looking Forward To The Mid Sem Break !!

Have not been updating my blog lately.. Too lazy.. and Too Emo to update..

Well, sorry to say if I am easily hurt or emo.. So what? Everyone have emotion and their sensitivity to their things happening around them is different. And I am just one of those sensitive people. Nothing wrong being too sensitive, it means we are just more concern about something..

Well, I am not going to pour out everything here, since I have already pour them out to my best friend. Just hope that time can recover me from this bad memory in my mind or else I will have more sleepless night. Yeah I am not kidding, I already had 2 sleepless nights because of what happened to me recently. Thank God my family cheered me up as they celebrated my 21st birthday early, in conjunction with my grandpa's birthday. 21 years old already.. This time my wishes are to be more tough mentally and won't emo so easily. Hope I can achieve that wish. Huhu..
Got a surprise celebration. Didn't really expect that since the original plan was to celebrate my grandpa's birthday. Didn't expect also to get so many big Angpausss !! Haha.. Now I am not so broke after all ^^ Thank God this celebration with my family cheer me up a lot...

Did not plan any outing since I canceled my original plan to KL due to the "Bersih" thingy that so happen to fall on my birthday 9 July !! So, no choice, just have to stay at home and spare more time with my family since I will miss them for my internship soon.

So that's it for this time.. Will blog again during mid sem break.. Another 3 days of lectures and that's it ! The last mid-sem break before my internship. Sad and happy at the same time.

Memorable Chemy Gang Outing Featuring Seniors and Juniors !!

15th June. What a day to remember.. Memorable day, screams and shouts, accompanied by laughters and jokes..

That's the bowling day featuring the Chemical Engineering bowling freaks 3rd year 2nd sem the so-called seniors and 1st sem the so-called juniors. Besides, it is also a farewell outing for our beloved friend Tan Seng Yee.. =)

Well, we played 8 games of exciting bowling. The ultimate battle between the seniors and the juniors.. Haha. We had a ball of time and enjoyed ourselves tremendously.. Oh ya, not forgetting I broke my record, setting a new record of scoring 196 points !! Haha.. That made my day =)

Never Give Up.. Fell Down, Stand Up and Walk Again..

Guess it has been almost one month I did not update my blog. Well, it takes me some time for settling down in the new semester and getting accustomed to the new schedule in 3rd year 2nd sem.

Time flies and it is now the end of week 3 already. Phew.. And just as I started to enjoy this semester, bad news struck me. The result last semester was released 2 days ago and it had taken me aback tremendously. My result dropped terribly and because of that, I emo-ed for a few days, feeling very disappointed over my past semester's result. Actually I have anticipated that the grades of the subjects I took left much to be desired. I expected that since I ended my Final Exam last semester. It is just that the GPA electrocuted me ! Zzzz

My results:

Chemical Process Dynamics and Control --> A

Engineering Team Project --> A-

Transport Phenomena --> B+

Malaysian Studies --> B

GPA : 3.56
CGPA : 3.87

Compared to my GPA last sem, it has dropped 0.36 and my CGPA dropped 0.05. It was so destructible and that is why I emo-ed for a few days.. This was the worst result I ever get in my life! Though I have somehow accepted this fact, but when I am blogging now, I still can feel some slight pain in my feelings. Aduh.. =(

Thank God I had an opportunity to release all my emotion yesterday and I can say that I am finally relieved from the pains that I endured before this. It was really a crazy day but I enjoyed it to my heart's content.

Well, with the release of last semester's result, finally I am done with 3rd year 1st sem. From now onwards, my mind will be just focusing on 3rd year 2nd semester and enjoy this last semester before I start my internship. Taking 4 subjects this semester and they are:

Process Plant Design - 4 credit hour
Engineering Economics and Entrepreneurship - 3 credit hour
Corporate Communication - 3 credit hour
Engineers In Society - 3 credit hour

Forget the past to move forward towards a better future.. I promised myself this semester I am going to work as hard as last sem to achieve good results again.

3rd Year 2nd Sem Gona Commence Soon !

Kind of fast, just 3 days left for my semester break if I exclude today. Well, I am planning to go back UTP in Sunday afternoon.. Want to play a good badminton game with my friends before starting a brand new sem. Well, it has been weeks since I last played badminton. Didn't play badminton at all during study week. Huhu..

Had my second outing today since the first outing last Thursday night (exactly one week ago). This time was with one of my high school friends. I guess this is the last outing before I go back to UTP. Well, I can't afford too many outings already. Freaking broke now.. Huhu..

Played 3 games of bowling and watched Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Played quite well, all games were 100 and above with 158 being the highest. Well, I hope I can really improve on it, aiming to break my current record of 180.. Huhu.. Well, diligence is the key, but can't forget about the costs also.. It's one of the reason make me quite poor now..
Quite funny and relaxing movie. Worth a watch for RM 6 ! Hehe ^_^

Started a second Hong Kong drama series few days ago, and of course it's my mission to finish it in this coming few days before I go back to UTP..

Kind of excited to start my new semester soon. With great motivation and mindset, let's STRIKE the new semester with a determined spirit.. Lolz.. Play too much bowling already :P

Sem Break Is Just So-so

Well, another bored post. Hehe. Not to say I am bored, but it's kind of.. Doing nothing except watching drama series, surfing internet, facebooking, playing computer games, blogging.. Just waiting the time to pass and new semester to begin..

Not much high school friends are in Ipoh now, perhaps they don't have any break yet, so that is just me left in Ipoh.

Anyone want to date me this week ? Hahaha.. Well, if not, I may just have to spent the remaining days of my semester break doing the same thing until I go back to UTP. Sometimes, I prefer going back to UTP even though it is the so-called "forest". Well, at least I can have some friends to play badminton with, eat together and play cards/monopoly. At home here, both siblings got to attend school and I can't disturb them as both of them will have SPM and STPM end of this year.. Huhu.. Wish them all the best and hope they can work hard in this few months before the important exam..

Well, think I am going to finish a 25-episode Hong Kong drama series by tonight and start a new one tomorrow.

It's Another Sem Break !

Yay ! Can't believe I just screwed my TP Final Exam paper this morning, and then now I am home sweet home blogging and enjoying the at-least-better-than-UTP internet !! Hehe..

The first shortest semester break ever.. Just only 1o days ! I still can recall that I once complained about UTP sem break being too long, and it would be better if UTP could shorten the semester break and extend the semester so that it is less hectic for all the UTPians.. And see what happened now ?! My wish come true and now I regret for having such a wish ! Huhu.. Anyway, that's a fact already and it has its own advantages too. So, I am just looking forward to enjoy this last semester break before my internship starts October !! Kind of excited about it.. ^^

Blink !!! Within the blink of an eye, my 3rd year 1st semester study week is here. It is not a week anyway, it is just days. Well, time flies, especially when you are busy with events, clubs and academics to handle.

So there it goes, my Final Exam schedule:

Malaysian Studies - 5th May

Chemical Process Dynamics and Control - 8 May

Transport Phenomena - 12 May

3 Final Exam papers to face this sem, not much, but quite tough. Nevertheless, of course I will do as much as I can to excel in all the subjects.

Had a great weekend last week - IChemE@UTP Appreciation Trip to Genting, then followed by Chem-E-Car Appreciation Dinner + friends' birthday celebration (took a lot of nice photos). Awesome !! I treasure every moment that was spent with my friends for the past few days. May our friendship long forever :P

Survived The Most Hectic Week

Perhaps the second most hectic week after Chem-E-Car week is week 11. Schlumberger interview, ETP evaluation and CPDC test 3. Oh gosh, started the week busily but ended it terribly..

Screwed Schlumberger interview, ETP not selected for EDX (though before this my group has already had the mindset of not entering EDX as it will add to the burden of our current hectic schedule, and myself has already expected the possibility of being selected is very low), but my heart just dropped to the bottom of the sea when I knew the result. :(( Can't control it..

Millions thanks to my group members; Fikree, Khair, Arai, Mumtaz and Amira.. Though we are not selected into EDX, but you all rocks and I love working with you guys. :D

Yeah, my EQ can be very low at times, and I need to improve that. Perhaps that's why I appreciate my parents for giving me a good name.

This name just reminds me of what I should do every time I feel depressed. The last word especially, means equilibrium. Whenever I am not emotionally stable, I shall always remind myself to do what my name means; that is to obtain equilibrium in mind and emotion; to relax and to release from tension.

Well, after pouring this out in this post, I feel much better now. Now I am closer to equilibrium. Hahaha... Hope for the best next week.

By the way, next week is week 12. Another 3 weeks will be the end of my 3rd year 1st semester and Final Exam will come. Anticipating the Appreciation trip to Genting in two weeks' time.. Whee ~~

Busy Month of Event, Tests and Academic !!

It's approaching the end of March.. Phew, I just can't believe I have endured quite a lot in this month.. A lot of what ??

Firstly it was the 6th Malaysian Chem-E-Car Competition held in UTP. As the treasurer of the organizing committee, it is a bit hard for us to start all the preparation work within 2 months (since we started our work after semester reopened in January).. Huhu.. But thank God, after all those hard work and effort, we managed to organized the event. It was quite successful overall, and what I am more glad about is, I made a lot of new friends from the committees and hence, my friends' list has been lengthen further. Hehe..

Thanks to this event as it provided me the first chance to wear Baju Melayu.. It was so cool wearing the costume of a different race.. Hehe.. The experience was just awesome !! Love and miss my committee so much :)

Secondly is the unstoppable tests.. Just finished 2 tests this week and there is another one awaiting this Friday. Hope can have a good weekend relaxing after studying so much.. I NEED REST LA !! Huhu..

Thirdly, need to buck up on my academic.. Revision (since I missed a few classes due to Chem-E-Car event last week), so it's better for me to have my leisure study to catch up so that I won't be lost in class later.. Besides, lab report, ETP reports, prototype and poster evaluations, Malaysian Studies assignment are all waiting for me to be accomplished.

Well, I have endured the busyness of the first half of my 3rd year 1st semester, so why can't I just bear with the second half of the semester? Come on Yi Herng, I can do it ! Just bear with another 5 weeks more and study week then it is the end of another semester already..

Phew, time seems to fly faster especially when I am busy with events and academic stuffs..

So, I wish all my friends to be strong and patient to endure the remaining of this semester !

First Shortest Mid Semester Break

Oh, finally the most awaited moment has reached. Its the freaking short 4-day mid semester break.. Zzzzz..

Well, nothing we can do about the duration of the break. Even now the semester break is just freaking one week !! So, just enjoy what we have..

Just recovered from a heavy fever for 4 days. Those days were horrible, miserable, terrible and the worst days. Ate medicine and panadols, forced myself to drink a lot of water and slept most of the days until I was so inactive and mentally so blur.. Zzzz.. But thank god, those days were over and I am recovered already, not fully though, because still terrible cough.. But overall, it is OK already.. Thanks for those who gave me advices, support, assist and words of encouragement for me to pull through those days :)

And now, I am back in my home sweet home since I leave home after Chinese New Year holiday one month ago.. Huhu...

So what am I going to do during these few days?

1. Studying to catch up ! Well, it is not called nerd.. People think holiday means no study but to me, I think it that way: I don't want to suffer later when I am totally lost about every single thing my lecturer teaches in class. So I better buck up now. Tests 2 will be following after the holiday, so better start now.. Hehe

2. Have a good rest. Life in UTP is hectic. Meetings follow by meetings. Need to get away from there to totally relax my mind..

Busy Month of February !!

Hi all, has been quite a long time didn't update my blog.. As the title of this post implies, I have been busy with Chinese New Year celebration, ChemE Car preparation, tests and Sports Carnival !! So, in short, it has been a busy month for me !

Well, its the end of February. What awaits me in March is another test to go, start working hard on my ETP, enjoy mid-sem break and an important event I joined this semester - 6th Malaysian Chem-E-Car Competition in UTP !!

Just ended my weekend in a enjoyable and memorable way. Finished 2 hard tests in one day, enjoyed the second Red Sonata Fiesta Concert as an audience and last but not least, have great times competing in Badminton in Sports Carnival. Excitement, cheers and applauses filled my these 2 days throughout !! That was fantastic !! :)

The Chemical Engineering Badminton Squad -> Silver Medalist !! Congratulations and thanks for the spirit, hard work, motivation and teamwork :)

3rd Year 1st Sem

Sorry, have not been updating my blog since semester starts. Have been quiet busy and lazy to update my blog lately until I have found the mood to update my blog..

This sem it will be much more free for me as my academic schedule is much less packed compared to the previous semesters. Thanks to the new structure of UTP, I can enjoy 2 semesters which are less hectic before my internship..

Have been busy lately with meetings, mostly meetings for Chem-E-Car and ETP. Anyway, will be much more free after the event on mid March.

Here goes the subject that I am taking this semester:

Chemical Process Control and Dynamics - 3 credit hr

Transport Phenomena - 3 credit hr

Engineering Team Project (ETP) - 3 credit hr

Malaysian Studies - 3 credit hr

It is pretty free right? Hehe.. Can't help it, because I "bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang sekarang".. Hahaha..

Watched two movies this month.. Both were great movie, especially Shaolin.. Can't control my tears when I was watching it, and I believe this was the movie that made me shed my tears the most.. Haha.. It is just so touching.. All Well Ends Well is a comedy and funny movie. Had a great time laughing and shedding tears in cinema.. Hahaha and huhuhu.. :) :(

Fantastic Trip To Beijing & Xi An

Hi, I am back ! Haha.. Back from a wonderful and fantastic trip to Beijing and Xi An. Well, I won't write a lot regarding this trip, lazy to write.. Haha.. Gona Lay My Foot on Beijing and Xi An !

As promised, I will briefly mention about the places that I will be visiting in Beijing and Xi An.. This is the preview before I embark on my journey ! Hehe, feel so excited !! First time going oversea and first time going to experience such extreme cold weather man ! Haha, anticipating for this trip..

Ok, cut the crap. This is my itinerary..

Day 2 Temple of Heaven, Beijing Zoo (hope to see panda there, hehe ^.^)
Day 3 Tian An Men Square, Forbidden City, Shopping at Wang Fujing Street (hope can grab as many souvenir here as possible)
Day 4 Great Wall of China (the trip to China can't be perfect without a visit to this place), Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium, Water Cube
Day 5 Summer Palace, Sea World, Yuan Ming Yuan, depart to Xi An at night
Day 6 Clock Tower Square, Terra Cotta Warriors, Muslim Street
Day 7 Qian Men Street, Shi Sha Hai Bar Street, Hutong Trishaw Ride, return to Beijing at night
Day 8 Cultural Street, Food Street..

Basically that's the places that I will lay my foot on in this trip.. Hope for the best, hope for a great pleasant trip and a new page of my life !! Lolz..

Nothing much more than a post that express my boring life.. Hehe.. So, I went to Jusco twice, Monday and today, and watched 2 movies in 3 days ! Nothing proud about it, but this is the first time I guess I am watching 2 movies in 3 days with friends. Thank God they eased me a bit from my boredom before I am going for my Beijing + Xi An trip !

In the mood of counting down : 3 days to go (if I discount today) !

It is extremely fast !! And my anxiety increases day by day ! Hehehe..

By the way, I haven't starting packing my luggage at all !! Will start tonight kot.. Lolz. Anyway my winter clothing is ready, just that I haven't pack and sort them out yet. No worries.. :)

Welcoming New Year 2011

Can hear the sound of fireworks from my room now even though it is not the moment of counting down for the new year 2o11 yet.. Time has never crawled any slower and wouldn't stop waiting for anyone.. Another year has just gone like that.. Really missed the old times studying in my secondary school, but now I can't rewind time, so all the memories I had in my secondary school will just be history and nostalgia. Huhu

Will be entering my third year of undergraduate study in UTP in 2011, and I will be starting my internship in September too !! Kind of anticipating for it.. Hehe..

New year resolution? Hmm, I am not going to have a special new year resolution as most of my friends do, simply because I prefer uphold one single principle. This principle can be my resolution anytime, any moment, any year; Work hard to achieve all my targets. Simple isn't it? Yes, I will uphold that principle in everything I want to achieve..

Went Cameron and Genting Highlands on the last two days. Mind is much relaxed now. Loved the cool and chill breeze and weather when I was up in the highlands.. Hehe.. ^.^

Alright, nothing much to write already. Lazy to do a lengthy review/reflection of the year. Generally 2010 is quite a different year for me, especially I am involved in a lot of events organized in and outside of UTP.. From becoming MAS facilitator, going Bukit Jalil to watch Thomas Cup Quarter Final match, volunteering to help in ICPEAM in KL Convention Centre, had a wonderful week in OBML, to becoming a committee in the 10th Convo Fair in UTP, leading UTP Chemy Squad to UiTM Shah Alam for Asia Pacific Games and achieved good results.. All these were so vivid in my memory and have of course make my 2010 so memorable and special..

For the new year 2011, I just hope my life will be fascinated by a new and different phase of my life in UTP.. Hope for the best..

My First Camera !!

Hehe, finally I have got my own camera.. Had been longing for one since long time ago.. Introducing my very first camera: Canon IXUS 105 ! Love it very much <3

Well, it is not any highly advanced camera as I can't afford to buy it. So, a 12.1 Mega pixel with some basic functions will just suffice my demand.. Furthermore I am not a professional photographer that need a very good and advanced camera. Had been wanting a camera so much because sometimes I really need it. I can't be using my hand phone camera forever to take photos wherever I go. I can use the camera in UTP (where I can use it to take photos for the never-ending events organized), gatherings and outings, mesmerizing and magnificent scenery to be captured and of course during vacations !! (my Beijing trip is the first 'task' that my camera is up to ! ) and etc.. Anyway, will be visiting Cameron Highland for the first time in my life tomorrow (as it is so near to Ipoh so me and my family don't even bother to visit it, until my parents says go there to sort of let me experience some 'cold weather' before I go Beijing, so that I won't get a 'weather shock' when I arrive Beijing later =.=||)!! I was a bit shocked when my parents told me last minute that we will be having a one day trip to Cameron Highland tomorrow.. =.=" It was kind of surprising to me and my siblings but nevertheless, since I have my new camera now, I can use it to shoot more photos in Cameron Highland tomorrow, as a warm-up practice to use my new camera !! Hehehe ^.^

4th Week Of Semester Break

It's already the 4th week of semester break, which signifies that half of my semester break has passed.. Another month left before I start my 3rd year 1st semester in UTP.. I have been looking forward to the badminton tournament that is going to be held in UTP this week since long time ago, but who knows destiny is not on my side.. The lamp in UTP was heard to be faulty and it needs time to repair and hence the tournament is postponed till 8th and 9th of January next year, and so "lucky" it is to clash with the date I go Beijing for a vacation.. What to do ? Fortune is not with me so I can just wait for other tournaments in the future :(

It is just that I can't believe things can change so easily and unexpectedly.. One day before you might have been planning well on how to execute certain plan or thinking solutions to some future problems, but on the next day things may not turn out the way you had imagined or the future problems that you have worried too much may not be happening at all !! This is life I guess..

Well, the original planned schedule to take part in the tournament in UTP this week has now become the usual boredom again..

Started reading the 3rd book of Harry Potter series 2 days ago and have reached half of the book.. Started another Hong Kong drama series 2 days ago..

Have been thinking of going through the lecture notes that are given by senior for next semester's subjects.. Maybe because I am too bored already and this people-would-think-i-am-crazy thought just appear in my mind.. Anyway, now I am just thinking of it only, haven't starting any 'crazy' action yet, but I believe I would have the motivation to browse through them as my preparation for next semester's subjects... One subject require us to have the knowledge of Laplace transform, which is the topic that I have learned in my 1st year 1st semester's subject and by now I have totally forgotten what is that all about... Sad case huh? Lolz.. So happen my mom found my Differential Equation lecture notes when she is tidying my book cupboard and found it and ask me whether I need the notes anymore or not before she decides to get rid of them.. Phew, how nice and convenient is that to have the lecture notes to help me to revise Laplace Transform rather than referring to the textbook or soft copy :)

3 days of fantastic badminton show really brightened up my weekend.. Indeed, the feeling is just like last year where I was in Bukit Jalil watching Malaysia's team playing on Thomas Cup Quarter Final.. What makes the difference is that Perak Open is a national tournament, but nevertheless, it is still an exciting and grand tournament.. All the national players and state players really put up a good challenge and entertained the audience to the maximum !!

I went to Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh, Perak for Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final.. It does not only reduce my boredom staying at home, it truly "opened my eyes" !! Fascinated by a lot of good badminton rallies and skills, I was extremely contented and gained a lot of fruitful tips on continuously improving my badminton skills and techniques.. Hehe..

The happiest thing ever in this tournament is I managed to take photos with some of the badminton stars !! Omg, never in wildest imagination did I expect to be able to take photos with so many badminton stars.. I was totally delighted.. It was just a wonderful experience and definitely it is one of the best happenings occurred on me in this semester break.. It will reside in my memory forever... Huhu..

Fruitful One Day Trip to KL !!

Well, I only got to know my parents are bringing my whole family to KL for one day trip yesterday during dinner.. Shocked by the last minute notification, I am quite in dilemma.. This is because originally I have agreed to join a gathering with my old school friends in Jusco today.. But finally, I made a decision to follow my family to KL (in fact I have to, no choice) as my parents said they are going to buy me winter clothing for my Beijing trip next month.. So, I have to go... But nonetheless, this trip turned out to be a fruitful trip, fruitful to me and my siblings, but a bit "suffering" to my dad, his wallet and credit card is bleeding profusely.. Lol..

Not going to exaggerate much about this trip.. We went Ikea, then Sunway Pyramid and finally Times Square. We walked and shopped and walked and shopped.. Omg, by the end of the day, my leg couldn't carry me anymore.. But we bought a lot of stuffs.. Hehe..

For me, I got my winter clothing and a pair of new Niki shoes since my old shoes is going to end its lifespan soon.. They all cost almost RM 500 in total !!

Going to Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh tomorrow for the second day of Perak Open.. Lee Chong Wei, Koo Kien Kiat, Tan Boon Heong and many state and national players are giving out good shows for me to enjoy and see some fascinating badminton matches !! This sem break seems not to bore me starting from now !

3rd Week Of Semester Break

Third week of semester break... Another week to go before half of my semester break is gone.. How time flies and what a plaint.. But yet sometimes I do feel time is crawling extremely slowly.. Maybe because I am feeling bored.. One week is like one month ! Huhu

So 3 weeks have already passed, what have I been up to ?

Well, I have finished reading the first Harry Potter book and now I am working on the second book: The Chamber of Secrets. I think I can finish it by this week and start reading the 3rd book.. Haha, depends on my speed of reading..

For Hong Kong drama series, I have started another one yesterday.. Surely, each day watch about 4 episodes of series, within 4 or 5 days can finish one drama series.. That's normal isn't it? But yet, I scared the drama series available are not enough for me to watch.. Haha.. Need to constantly keep stock so that I won't be run out of drama series to be watched..

Visa for going to Beijing is on the way. Everything should be settled by next week.. Now just left with the winter clothing that need to be bought..

Planning to take part in a badminton tournament that is going to held in UTP from 24-26 December... But somehow there is some problem.. Really hope that the problem can be solved so that we can participate in this tournament.. This tournament is open to outsiders too.. That's why it is a good opportunity to challenge myself !! Haha..

Hoping to have at least one outing next week.. If not I will be rotten to death at home !!

Harry Potter Series !

Harry Potter has always been my favorite story. I have watched its movie series for a number of times again and again. Imagine how attractive it is to me. Haha.. Thanks J.K Rowling for bringing to the world such a wonderful story..

Well, feeling bored in this semester break, I have nothing much to do except watching drama, playing facebook and computer games. Now I have found a new way to kill my time.. That is: Reading the Harry Potter series all over again !! Hehe.. Special thanks to Yee Weng for giving me the soft copy of the Harry Potter series. Now whenever I feel bored, Harry Potter will be my companion ! Haha..

These books are going to be my good alternative to kill time in the 2-month sem break !

Second Week of Semester Break

The problem is : What to do ?? What is the 'something'??

No mood to touch any books especially TCE magazines.. Plan to read the last book of Harry Potter - The Deathly Hallows.. But I don't have that book !

Have some gatherings and outings with your friends la...

Good idea but I can't be going out everyday.. Had my first badminton outing yesterday.. It was a nice one.. Plan to have another badminton outing 2 weeks later.. Besides, a lot of my friends are still busy and not back in Ipoh yet, so it's hard to have outing... Have to wait until most of them back in Ipoh then only can plan for gatherings and outings..

So, what else?

Drama ?

Of course.. I can't live my semester break without Hong Kong Drama.. Haha.. It's my best entertainment.. Started my third drama in the second week..

Heard a lot of good comment about this drama.. Indeed, it is ! Just watched 3 episodes of it and I am so addicted to it already.. Haha..

Not selected to represent UTP for Kejohanan Mahasiswa.. Too much good players already.. And I am not good enough... Well, frankly, I am not feeling sad about it as I did not put too much hope that I will be selected. That's why I accept it and take that as a chance for me to spent more time with my family and friends.. :)

First Passport Ever !!

Well, the title of the post says it all.. Did my first passport in my life ever.. Hahaha.. But it took the whole day !! Went to the Immigration Department office today at 10am.. Took the number and wait for my turn.. There were 250 people before me !! And the place was extremely crowded.. Even after I went for lunch and come back at around 2pm, there were still about 50 people before me.. Haiz...

All I did is just

wait :(((

Finally it was my turn... After the documents were settled, waited for the payment.. RM 300.. Oh gosh !! Luckily my parents pay for it.. Thanks a lot ! :D

Waited for almost an hour for the passport to be ready.. And by the time I finished everything, it was 4pm !! Huhuhu.. But thank God, it just took me one day and now my FIRST EVER PASSPORT IS SETTLED !! Hehe..

Now it is time for my visa.. Hope can finish it as soon as possible and then I am ready for Beijing !!

Oopps, I still haven't buy the necessary clothing for the cold weather there ! Hmm, guess I need my parents' advice on that matter some other time..

2mr will be my first badminton outing with my long lost friends !! Looking forward to it.. Hehe..

TCE is a monthly magazine that every IChemE Malaysia member will get.. The content of this magazine is about the development, technology and discovery of the field of chemical engineering..

Hmm, think I am going to start reading them in this semester break. If not, it would be such a waste.. Besides that, I can also increase my interest and knowledge about Chemical Engineering and kill my time !! How nice ! :))

Well, that's the plan I have so far, since no one invite me for any outing yet. :((

When I got the motivation, then I will starting read TCE !!!

Drama Spree

Have been doing nothing much except watching drama, facebooking, sleeping and playing computer games.. No outing yet. Start to get bored..

What to do ya ? Can't really repeating this routine again and again until I go Beijing. It's more than one month to go. Huhu..

I once think of I should fully utilize this last longest sem break by doing something useful, like trying to research on the topics about ETP (Engineering Team Project), a subject that I am doing to take next semester or start working on my resume for internship..

But I have totally no mood and not motivated to start to do all that yet !!!

Perhaps it's my mindset. When the situation or event is approaching, then only I am motivated to work on it, or else, I will keep on procrastinate them. Guess that's my weakness that I should eliminate.

But.......

It's just the second day of semester break and so fast I am thinking of next sem's subject and internship which is next year's September ?? Am I crazy or what..?

Come on la Yi Herng, don't worry about something which is uncertain, unpredictable and far please...

Or that's just another excuse from me to procrastinate?

Really have no idea, but definitely, my mind is not ready to think about my academic things now.. At least, give me a break...

Ok, gona continue my drama spree later when my mom goes to sleep and the TV will be mine !! Muahaha..

Longest Semester Break !!

Phew, finally done with my second year second semester study in UTP !! And I am glad that I have survived this semester !!! This was the toughest semester I ever had in UTP before. To make matters worse, I was engaged in lots of commitment (IChemE and ConvoFair). Anyway, I managed to pull through that. Thank God. Well, what to do in this coming semester break ? I got to enjoy this semester break to the maximum as this is the last chance I can enjoy a 2-month semester break, after which I will be spending most of my time studying in UTP and Internship.

Some upcoming programs that will spice up my semester break :

Kejohanan Mahasiswa in Kulim from 10-12 December (hope to get the chance to represent UTP in badminton team event and of course, get medals !! Hehehe )

First ever oversea trip with some of my UTP friends: Beijing, China.. Looking forward to it very much..

And perhaps Genting Trip by the mid of January next year with my course mates before next semester starts..But the date has not been confirmed yet. Anyone would like to join? Not necessary have to be my course mates ya... Hehe, the more the merrier.

Hmm, think that are the major events and activities that I am going to engage this semester break, wish for more outing with friends and family..

Last Post Before Final Exam

Hi there, just a short post from me this time. Tomorrow I will officially start my final exam. 6 papers to go.

Have been studying for almost 2 weeks. Fairly satisfied with my progress although I have not studied for 2 subjects at all ! But I think I still have time to study them. Frankly speaking, the subjects for this semester are quite tough, but I still managed to get the hold of it, although I did not do really well in all the tests for all the subjects. Nevertheless, this is the last chance for me to try my best to get the best results I can. No regrets after this.

Hopefully what I have put forth in the study week will be rewarded in the future. Can't wait to finish the Final Exam and enjoy my last longest semester break with my friends and family. Till I blog again, I would like to wish all UTPians

Study Week Again !!

It was like I have just started my 2nd year 2nd semester yesterday... And pop, unaware of the passage of time, now my 2nd year 2nd sem has come to an end following the last lecture week. What coming is Study Week and 2 weeks of Final Exam and I am done with my second year of undergraduate study in UTP. How time flies...

Maybe I am too engaged in a lot of activities and events this semester, starting from the intensive Chinese Orchestra Practice to prepare for Konsert Diraja (in the end, it is postponed and postponed again), followed by my commitment in IChemE@UTP and Convo Fair 2010, participation in 2nd IChemE Students Sports and Career Day in UiTM, Shah Alam.. This semester I seem to be too active in extra co-curricular activities, and focus less on my academic, this has lead me to struggle a bit on my tests. But, I never regret joining so many events. It makes me learned a lot, especially how to manage events, how to work and collaborate well with people. In simpler terms, I have gone through lots of pain and gain this semester.

Well, I need a break before paying my full focus on my study week next week. I am going to study hard to make amend for my not-so-good performance in my previous tests. I believe I still stand a chance to score well. But before that, I need a short break and that's why, I am HOME SWEET HOME NOW !! Hahaha.. It has been a long time since I left my house (if not mistaken it was since mid-sem break).. Huhu.. So, a momentarily break from the hectic study life in UTP is necessary in order for me to relax for a while before I go all out in the study week and Final Exam..

The Final Draft of my Final Exam timetable has been out. There it goes:

19 November (Friday) - Introduction to Management
20 November (Saturday) - Process Safety and Loss Prevention, Probability and Statistics
22 November (Monday) - Separation Process II
23 November (Tuesday) - Process Instrumentation
28 November (Sunday) - Reaction Engineering

A total of 6 subjects and 18 credit hours. Study hard in Study week and Do Well in Final Exam..

What A Great Experience !!! Convo Fair 2010, I LOVE YOU !!

Aaaahhhh, relieved, relieved and relieved.. All my involvement and commitment in major events this semester was finally done and the results were truely AWESOME !!!

Let's cut it short, if not, I am not going to finish this post and then have a good rest..

First major event of the semester that I am managing: 2nd IChemE Asia Pacific Students Sports and Career Day. I was put in charge of this event as Event Manager. Well, needless to say, I have undergone a lot of challenges and obstacles in the process, in terms of selection to select the best representatives, the fitness test that we have to pass in order to get sponsored by UTP management, and all kinds of problems that are sometimes quite mentally irritating and stressful. But thank God, with the help of my friends and IChemE committee members, the event was a successful one. In this event, we managed to put up the good name of UTP. We got 2 gold, one silver and 2 bronze in Men Futsal, Dota, Volleyball, Badminton and Netball. Just manage to upload my badminton photo :)

Besides, I also got the 2nd runner up in Wira Tangkis, one of the events of Convo Fair. Thanks to my double partner, Haziq :)

Congratulations to our representatives for doing a good job ! This is the badminton squad that fought hard to get bronze. If we weren't lose to the "pak cik", we would have got Gold.

Next event, which is the largest event that I have never joined in UTP before: Convo Fair 2010, 10th Anniversary. From the committee recruitment until the realization of all the events in Convo Fair, we have worked and prepared for around 6 months !! Bear in mind, it is 6 months ! Definitely it is not an easy job. From the day I knew that I was being recruited as the committee until the end of Convo Fair, I have learned a lot from it !! I had once thought of quitting Convo Fair and there were endless times I felt 'emo' until I felt regret to join this kind of big annual event especially in my toughest 2nd year 2nd semester.. I may have made a lousy decision, but now I can say that, I am so proud of being the committee of Convo Fair and glad that I can hold on for these months with my perseverance. This is another best experience and memory of mine that rocks my life in UTP. There are still lot of thoughts that I would like to share but if I were to write here, it will bore all of you. Haha. Let some pictures do the talking. Actually there are a lot of pictures taken, but I have no access to them at this moment so I just can upload what I have. Will upload more when i got them someday later.

Yeah, that's it !! I am happy and elated to shout out loud that "I HAVE DONE WITH MY MAJOR EVENTS THIS SEM !!" The feelings of happy, relieved, proud and relax are playing in my mind !! Not to say that I am totally free, I still have some post-event things to follow up, but the workloads are much less heavier.

Done with events, time to switch my attention back to my academics !! Lots lots of assignments, lab reports and revision to catch up with the syllabus. Final exam is already approaching and there is not much time for us to play around. Time to be serious !! This week I got one test and next week I got 3 tests in 2 days. Omg, I got to be alert on that and hopefully I can regain my momentum in my academic as soon as possible..

Alright, got to stop writing anymore. Till I update my blog, take care. I really need a good rest to recharge my mind and soul !! Haha. Bye.

Struggling Time... God, Please Bless Me

Haha, well, the title of my post sounds scary, as if I am going to have a major problem or dilemma that will have the biggest impact on my life. Lolz. However, indeed, I can foresee a heavy storm in the future. That's why I hope God can bless me to go through all the future dilemma.

Well, let's start with my mid semester break first. Practically these 2 weeks I have not done much academic stuffs except finish off one lab report and studied 2 chapters of PSLP. For event stuff, I have settled some IChemE and Convo Fair things, but they are not done yet, still got a lot to be followed up and yet to be finished. Huhu. Guess that takes time, can't really finish them at one go, need to be slow and steady. :)

Besides, I went to Teluk Intan during this holiday. Haha, this is the first time I went to Teluk Intan since I have been staying in Ipoh for 20 years !! Feel a little bit shame on myself. Hehe. Other than that, I had 2 outings with my fellow UTP friends who are staying in Ipoh. These 2 outings had really diluted my boredom during this holiday. Last but not least, the rest of the time I just did nothing except Facebooking, playing Dota and hang around doing nothing. You can imagine how bored I was.

But as I can't ignore the demand of commitment for IChemE and Convo Fair, as I need to do some planning for the events that I handle, I can't really stay away from home, away from Internet and Email practically. Here I would apologize to Ashraf, a.k.a Acap as I was not able to visit your house during Raya and celebrate together. Haha, hope I can really visit your house one day :)

Well, that was all about my mid semester break. Tomorrow morning I will be heading back to UTP.

Why I said so??

Introducing my TO-DO-LIST !!!

First and foremost, in terms of academic, I have 3 projects to be finished off and one test to be taken.

Secondly, IChemE !! 1st and 2nd October is getting nearer, which means the trip to UiTM Shah Alam is approaching and there are a lot of things to be confirmed and settled before that date. I just have approximately 2 weeks to settle them; the payment, transportation, accomodation, registration of participants..... and the list goes on.... In addition, there are a few activities and event held by IChemE next month. As Hicom, we have to make sure all the events are successfully held. >.<

Last but not not least, it's 10th ConvoFair !! There are A LOT A LOT A LOT of things to be settle and I m lazy to wrote them down one by one here.. In short, I have to get them done before ConvoFair.

Well, I have joined two badminton tournaments; Wira Tangkis and UiTM Sports Day. Wow, at one moment I thought I am a state player or what, joining so many tournaments. Haha.. Anyway, starting from tomorrow I am going to brush up my badminton skills and stamina to prepare for both tournaments. I swear I will give my best performance in both the tournaments and leave the rest to God.

Alright, guess I have wrote a lengthy post. Sorry if this post bores you. This post is just for me to relieve all my feelings and at the same time remind myself to be strong and tough, physically and mentally. This coming second half of the semester is really challenging and testing my ability to deal with pressure and my perseverance. I can't afford to break down any moment before any of this events commences and I must stay focus until all the events are carried out. Really hope that all the events that I handle will be conducted and carried out successfully, meaningfully and memorably.

Outing With UTP 'Juniors'

Hehe, the first outing with my fellow UTP 'juniors' today. They are not really my juniors anyway, because we are peers. This time the outing consisted of Yee Weng, Nicole, Ming Xian, Dong Guo Mei Foong and me. Have a great time with the 'juniors' and this outing let me know more about my juniors in UTP, since there are still lots of them I don't recognize at all. :(

Well, watched The Expendables for the second time, but it is still cool and interesting to me. Thanks to Yee Weng for treating me the movie. :)

After movie, we went for lunch and we played 2 bowling games. Then we went to play arcane station for some interesting shooting and then we played Counter Strike in the cyber cafe.
Lol, we really spent the whole day to rock Jusco.

Looking forward to the next outing. Don't want to rot at home. Huhu

Mid Semester Break

Phew, time shoots like rocket. 6 weeks of the semester had already passed and it is mid sem break now. This time, the mid sem break is a bit longer, 2 weeks. Well, I have been so damn busy with my life in UTP that I have abandoned my blog temporarily. Just finished 4 tests in 2 days. Now it is time to have some rest and revive my blog.

Well, I can't relax much though. This sem have been the busiest semester I ever had. Even before the semester starts, I am already busy with ICPEAM, OBS, Chinese Orchestra practice. When this semester starts to commence, commitments for IChemE@UTP and Convo Fair 2010 are calling me. I hardly have enough time to really relax and settle down. As such, I am so busy engaged with all those commitments until I was unaware of how fast time flies. Pop, within the blink of an eye, 6 weeks are already gone and that goes half of my semester.

After this mid sem break, I am sure the intensity of busyness will keep on increasing as Convo Fair is approaching and also the trip to UiTM Shah Alam for 2nd IChemE Asia Pacific Students Sports and Career Day. Even for this mid sem break, I can't fully utilize my free time to catch up with my studies. I still need to plan and prepare for my event for Convo Fair and IChemE. Huhu..

Outing and Home Sweet Home !!

After first week of my 2nd year 2nd sem, I am already having my outing !! Haha, on the first reason, we want to relax ourselves before the hectic life comes in. The second reason is to fulfill my promise which is to treat my friends based on my good result last sem. This is our "Chemy Tradition".

Well, i won't go to the details of the outing. This time the outing consisted of me, Chua Wee Kheng, Hon Lian Hung, Yong Jenn and Sze Mei. The main excitement of this outing is nevertheless watching the movie that everyone is taking about, INCEPTION !! Thanks to Hon for treating us the movie. Anyway, he was fulfilling his promise that he owed us long time ago. Haha.
Inception, a very interesting movie. Dreams within dreams. Somehow it was too deep for me to digest the storyline. Haha.. Anyway, it is a nice movie. 2 and a half hours !!

For the meals, we went Ipoh Old Town for breakfast and Sushi King for lunch.

And now, here I am, staying and blogging at my home sweet home. It has been one month I am away from home. Hmm, after I am leaving my home for UTP, I wonder how long it takes before I can get the chance to be homed again. Huhu

The beginning of my most hectic semester !!

Well, as the blog title sounded, I started off my 2nd year 2nd semester very busily. In fact, I expected that as I need to sacrifice one month of my semester break to come back to UTP. So how can I expect to be free when semester starts? Not logic right? Sigh.. Yeah, I have mentally expected the hectic life that will be haunting me when semester starts and I am prepared for it. I shall be getting even more busier after the second week of lecture when all the tutorials class and labs will be commenced. Oh gosh, I don't want to imagine that now. What will come in the future, I will just accept it and cope with it. No choice, that is life. No use worrying about the future now as it is uncertain.. Lolzzz

Ok, enough with the crap. Today is my 3rd day of lecture. Actually I have planned to update my blog 2 days ago. But due to the meeting marathon from 8pm -12 midnight for the past 2 days, and after the meeting I still need to do some paper work and plan for my events, it was already wee hours in the morning after I finished all my work. My eyes were calling me to shut down temporarily. So I have no choice but to sleep.

Tonight ! Finally I am 'temporary' free from any meeting. That is why I can have the chance to update my blog. I am taking 6 subjects this semester for a total of 18 credit hours. Dropped French language again as this sem it is not advisable to add any additional subject. With the toughness of some of the subjects this sem, added by my "active" involvement in Convo Fair, IChemE and Chinese orchestra, I think I shall take my seniors' advice.

There it goes, subjects that I am taking this sem:

Reaction Engineering - 4 credit hours
Separation Process (II) - 3 credit hours
Probability and Statistics - 3 credit hours

4 Days To Go Before My 2nd Year 2nd Sem Starts !!!

4 days ???!!! Yeap, it is exactly 4 days from now.. The 2-month sem break has finally come to an end soon, lectures, tutorials, assignments and tests will conquer my life again.. That does not include my commitment in Convo Fair and IChemE yet.

Well, recall what I have done in this semester break. I can say that this semester break is the one which I didn't spent a lot of time with my family. Even my parents also complain about this as if I like to stay in UTP more than staying at home. Well, I think the culprit is the Chinese orchestra practice in which I have to come back one month earlier. But, I promise myself, starting from 3rd year, I will stop joining any event, just to concentrate on my study and prepare myself for internship next year.

This few days I have been busy with meeting and proposals. But nevertheless, I still managed to find some entertainment and sports. Watched the new Hong Kong drama in UTP. Usually I can just only watch Hong Kong drama during semester break at home. But thanks to Nicholas Yinn, I copied one latest Hong Kong drama and one movie from him that have made my last week of semester break a relax one.

Very nice drama..Interesting storyline with scientific elements throughout the whole drama :)

Guess the rest of my days will be spent with proposals and some paper works for Convo Fair and IChemE. Besides, I am going to utilize the remaining time to prepare mentally and physically to face the new coming tough and challenging semester !! Till I blog again, take care.

My 2nd Year 1st Sem's Result

Have been waiting for the moment the result to be released. Finally, it was released at around 12.45am. I do feel a bit shocked over my result. Frankly speaking, I didn't expect such a good result. I expect it to be worse, as I did not do so well for a few papers in the Final Exam last sem. Well, guess there is a little bit of luck.

My 20th Birthday Celebration

Sorry for being away from my blog for quite some time. I have been busy with Chinese orchestra practices. Just back from a trip to Penang to have orchestra practice with SMK Valdor's students. They are simply very good and skillful in playing the instruments. Gained a lot of knowledge from this trip.

Well, back to the main topic of this post !! My 20th birthday ! I can say that it was the best celebration ever as my birthday before this was just quite normal. We went Ipoh to celebrate my birthday and the gang consisted of me (of course), Chua, Shian Ee, Siang Leng, Seng Yee, Meng Kiat, David, Nicholas, Yen Hua and Pei Ying. We went for Twilight - Eclipse while some of them went singing karaoke. Although I missed the first movie of Twilight, but I managed to catch up with the theme of the story when I last watched Twilight - The New Moon. Both were just extremely interesting movies.
After the movie, I went to shop for my new badminton shoes. This was because my badminton shoes had just spoiled and I need a new and better one. So, I bought a new Yonex badminton shoes which costed me RM 100 !! Omg, I am so broke now.. Haha..

Next, we went to Restaurant Moven Peak for dinner. I got my birthday surprise there as all of them sang a birthday song and they bought me a birthday cake !! I totally didn't expect that. It was really a big surprise and memorable moment. After all, I was totally oblivious about their planning before this. That is what we call surprise right? Haha.. Thanks to Chua also for buying me a slice of Secret Recipe cake :)

So, we came back to UTP after dinner and then guess what? We started our Dota gamessss !! Haha..

Well, it was a really memorable and happy celebration on my 20th birthday. Thanks to all for their birthday wishes to me and I really appreciate that..

Huhu.. It is going to be a tough semester I guess, but I hope that I can cope with the stress and commitment, in terms of academic and also events (Convo Fair and IchemE).

Result is heard to be released soon, probably by this week. Just hope that I can get GPA 3.9 above :)

OBML ROCKS !!!!

As the title suggests, OBML (Outward Bound Malaysia, Lumut) truly rocks to max ! It is definitely undeniable. But I would say that my batch's experience was totally different from the previous 2 batches. My friends who went for the first 2 batches could not avoid from complaining how severe was the sun burn they got and how physical demanding was to kayak and whaling for 8 hours or more under the hot sun. I was initially expecting that scenario too. But it turned out to be quite different. The weather turned bad when we had our expedition. First was kayak to Teluk Sekadih. The journey to there was fine. The weather was not hot, sky was cloudy and windy at times. However the journey back was terrible as we were kayaking for longer distance. At first was OK, but in the afternoon around 12, rough waves began to disturb us. There was once me and my partner were left far too behind until we were too exhausted to carry on and we just on board the speed boat to reach our destination.

The second expedition was whaling. Well, whaling was more fun and relax compared to kayaking as there were more people on board and it was not so boring. However, that was the most memorable and interesting expedition throughout the camp and in my life. I won't forget the experience forever. In the middle of our journey, we encountered an extremely heavy storm. Strong wind and rough sea made our whaling so difficult to carry on. Strong wind had been hitting on the sail and our whaler was at one moment on the verge of capsizing. Luckily, all the people on the whaler stretched to their full force and effort to pull and then bring down the sail. The situation was so critical.

Well, those were the 2 main expeditions throughout my OBML camp. I have learned a lot of meaningful life-long values.
Rain or shine, life goes on.

There are many things more I can narrate futher about my experience this time. But in order to make it short, I will let the photos do the talking.

In conclusion, the course in OBML this time has brightened up my semester break as well as motivating me to become a more noble person. Wish one day we could have one outing or gathering with our lovely instructor Abg Yazid and Abg Ramlan.

Close myself to nature and away from the modern world

Yeah, as the title suggests, I will be away from my comfort living and close myself to the nature. I will be participating the Outward Bound School (OBS), Lumut starting from tomorrow for one week. Hehe. Hence, I will be away from Facebook, Garena, and blogging.

Managed to watch IP MAN (II) even though I missed the chance to watch it in cinema.

As I had promised, I will definitely blog about my trip to KL for the participation of this International Conference on Process Engineering and Advance Material (ICPEAM) under World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON 2010).

Well, if I were to write and describe all my feelings and happenings about this 3-day conference, I think it would take me a very long time to narrate. So I would just like to summarize it and let the photos do the talking. =)

Basically, I truly enjoyed this trip to the max. The experience and exposure to a lot of professionals; professors, lecturers and experts from Chemical Engineering field had deepened my knowledge and comprehension on Chemical Engineering field and further improve my interest in studying Chemical Engineering. Some plenary talks and presentations that I managed to attend were tremendously interesting and fruitful. They gave me an idea on what are the researches that are potentially important and crucial in the future. This conference was a platform for the exchange of knowledge. The benefits that I got were invaluable. If I got the chance to take part in this international conference 2 years later, either as committee (volunteer) or participants (presenter), I would definitely say YES !! Why would I reject such a good and rare opportunity? In fact, after this conference, I made a lot of friends, not only seniors from UTP itself, but also some international students studying Masters from Japan and US. Wee ~~ This social networking maybe important for my future purposes :D

On the last night in KL, we managed to watch one movie in Times Square for RM 7 !! Wow, I really didn't expect that cheap price. Anyway, the movie we watched is The Karate Kid. Since last time I missed the chance to watch it in Jusco, I finally got to watch it in KL this time. It is a very nice and meaningful movie. Satisfied. Haha.

Gathering Before We Separate For Sem Break

It was an unplanned gathering yesterday night. Well, at least to me. The gathering last night consisted of 10 UTPians including me. This gathering was done after they finished their first batch of OBS camp and before we all break up for our semester break till we meet again next sem.

The outing consisted of me, Wee Kheng, Hon, Eric, Lawrence, Vyner, Lew, Harold, Jonathan and Sze Mei. Hehe.. Planned to watch Karate Kid at first but the tickets were a sell out. So, we watched A-Team. Suspense and climax all the time, but the story went a bit too fast at the second half and most of us were a bit blurred about the story line. Anyway, the movie was full of actions and you would not get bored.

After the movie it was 11.30pm, I bid farewell with them and followed my family back.

Anyway, I have just changed my blog template.. Feel it is quite nice.. Hehe..

Oh ya, I am leaving to KL tomorrow for the coming ICPEAM (International Conference On Process Engineering and Advance Material) under ESTCON (Enginnering, Science and Technology) 2010. Hope to get some photos for the conference and then will upload them in my next post. =)

First Week of Semester Break

Well, today is already the forth day I came back from UTP to enjoy my semester break. My daily routine is usual. Facebooking, playing Dota, watching Hong Kong drama series, resuming my badminton training and last but not least, not forgetting some outing and gathering with my friends.

Last Friday was my first outing with friends. This outing was a bit special. It consisted of me, one of my best friend that is going to fly off to Michigan, US who is Wai Khan and one friend studying in UTP, my coursemate, Steward. You maybe wondering, how this two guys can know each other and have outing together. Well, it is a long story to tell and as a summary, I am the middle man between this rare friendship.. Haha. Alright, back to the outing, it started in Steward's favourite rendezvous; Starbucks where I had my Java Chip as breakfast. After that, we moved to Jusco to have a movie, Big Apple and finally Burger King which was the first time I went. Although Wai Khan only managed to join us for the meal in Burger King, but we chatted for a long time and that was a great moment together. Really hope that we can have another chance to meet and gather again before Wai Khan fly off to US to further his studies. Can't upload the photos taken because I hadn't get from Wai Khan. Anyway, this is the movie we watched. It was simply entertaining and worth a watch for RM 8.
Currently I am watching the famous Hong Kong drama series to kill my time before going back to UTP for ICPEAM preparation.

End of My Second Year First Semester in UTP

That's it.. Another semester in UTP just ended in the blink of an eye. With my 2nd year 1st semester in UTP coming to an end, it signifies that I have already spend half of my tertiary study in this university. It is already two and a half year out of five years I am pursuing my degree in Chemical Engineering in UTP. In fact, many of my seniors whom I recognize since I enter UTP is having the final year and final semester and going to graduate soon. Huhu.

Well, let's do a reflection of my life this semester. I still can recall vividly my 2nd year 1st sem started with a memorable MAS (Minggu Aluan Siswa) Facilitator. I enjoyed that week tremendously and recognized a lot of juniors. After that, it was Sports Carnival. I represented Chemical Engineering students together with other friends in Badminton and we had a good sweating throughout that week. Congratulations to Chemical Engineering Department as being first-runner up in Badminton category and emerged as the Overall Champion ! Next was performance for Red Sonata Fiesta - One Night in Beijing. That was the first big event that I could get to perform on the stage of Chancellor Hall. Hope there are more chances for me to perform in the future. Well, those were my hectic schedule in the first half of my semester. For the second half of the semester, I was free from many heavy commitment and I could focus more on my study. UTP Icheme Hicom Selection, OCM Dewan Pilharmonik Petronas and Konsert Diraja Performers Audition and Convo Fair 2010 Committee Recruitment were the activities I involved for my second half of my semester.

As I said in my previous post, my 2-months sem break has been cut short to 2 weeks ! Huhu.. Guess this time I am not going to complain about the boredom during my sem break. Instead, I will treasure more the time left for me to stay with family. =)

Upcoming post will be about my involvement in the first event during this sem break: ICPEAM. Till then, stay tuned.

2 Down, 3 More To Go !!

Omg, within the blink of an eye, since last time I blogged until I update my blog again now, I have already finished 2 papers. Wah !! Time is really speeding without waiting for anyone. Well, it means that I am done with 2 papers and left with 3 papers which are Computational Methods, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics and Process Heat Transfer before I declare my 2 months of semester break.. The so-called 2 months is just for the other students. For me, extremely sadly to say, my 2 months semester break this time has shortened to almost 2 weeks for I am so busy and occupied with commitments and task to be accomplished during my semester break.

Let me briefly explain what are the 'culprits' which has shorten my sem break. Haha. First event is ICPEAM. This international event or rather forum is held by UTP Chemical Engineering Department in KLCC for 3 days; 15-17 June. Since I am one of the volunteers to help out, I need to stand by to be called by the lecturers to come back to UTP early to help them to prepare some work like printing the name tags and certificates for the participants and so on. So, I guess I will be busy a few days before ICPEAM forum starts in KLCC. But, I take this as a good experience. Not the experience of printing name tags and certificate of course, but the experience that I will gain during the forum where I can gain lots of knowledge and exposure. More importantly, the accommodation, food and transport expenses are totally paid by UTP !! Yahoo !! Haha. Looking forward to it.

Up next event is OBS; Outward Bound System camp in Lumut ! This is another camp offered to Petronas Scholar besides STE. But this camp is totally different from STE where physical strength is highly demanded. It is totally an outdoor and adventurous activity. Many seniors said it is fun !! So, I am also looking forward to enjoying this camp !

Right after OBS camp; which ends on 27 June, I have 2 days to rest in my home. As after that, I will be coming back to UTP for Chinese Orchestra practices !! WTH !! It is not even up to one month before I leave UTP, and now I need to come back again.. This intensive Chinese orchestra practice is for the preparation of the upcoming major event in UTP Chancellor Hall, Konsert Diraja which is on 23rd July, 2 days before next semester starts.

Besides that, even though I am busy with orchestra practices, I still need to contribute my commitment in Convo Fair 2010. Many tasks and responsibility need to be finished on time. So even though I have to miss Convo Fair Family Day and may not be able to attend some of the meetings, I still need to carry out my responsibility with my utmost effort.

Phew, after so many events and activities mentioned, I think I am not going to complain how boring is semester break as I did for previous semester breaks. Haha. Well, as my next paper, Computational Methods will be on Thursday, I don't have any mood to study tonight. Will go all out study tomorrow. Oh ya, my luck this week is so bad in badminton court. I broke my racket string for both my rackets in two days consecutively.. Haiz.. Have to restring after this and I am planning to buy a new racket to replace my old racket with the frame 'senget' already.. Huhu.. Have to start saving money now.

A Day Before Final Exam Starts

Finally, my almost-2-weeks of study week is going to end tomorrow following my first paper which will commence afternoon tomorrow. Well, I can say that my preparation for the Final Exam this semester is quite well as I have sufficient time to study. Besides, there are gaps between the papers. So I believe that I can finish study them all before hand. Yeah !! This is the first time I am able to complete all my revision before taking the exam. Previously I really can't utilize the study weeks well and as a result, I could not complete my revision for some subjects and I took risk. Happy and satisfied with my preparation for Final Exam this sem. Hope that what I have studied will remain in my memory so that I can answer the exam questions well and pass the exam with flying colors !! Haha ^.^

In fact, most of the people already finished most of their final exam papers and they are in the mood of celebrating the 2-months sem break ! WTH !! So jealous watching them relaxing while the Chemical Engineering 2nd year 1st sem students have to restrain themselves from any entertainment and relaxation and to PREPARE FOR FINAL EXAM !! Huhu.. Well, that is the draw back of having a long study week.. Can't complain too much. 5 Final Exam papers to be taken within 3 weeks. So I guess the schedule is pretty loose and not so hectic compared to the previous semesters.

I am writing this post just to take a break from my unstoppable study and to update my blog. After this, I still have to continue to study for tomorrow's paper and I believe I can finish the revision by tonight. For those who have still not yet finish their Final Exam papers, I would like to wish you all

Thomas and Uber Cup 2010- Quarter Final !!

The title says it all. Well, don't get me wrong. I have been the audience for the previous Thomas and Uber Cup matches in front of television. But what makes this different from what I had been doing is I transformed from being an ordinary audience, supporting Malaysia Badminton Squad in front of TV to being a fan and audience who shouted and cheered for every single point that our Malaysian badminton players had scored live on the spot !! Yes, you get it. It is right at the seat inside Bukit Jalil Stadium Putra where me and my 3 friends, Kerry, Haziq and Zul cheered for Malaysian players for their matches against Denmark.

Sitting while watching the Malaysian heroes played in front of you in the distant is something you can't experience by sitting in front of a television watching the match. The atmosphere was totally different. We shouted to the top of our voice and applauded in joy when we saw our Malaysian heroes in action to score. Their stunning speed, powerful and sharp smashes and some incredible shots were just amazing and entertaining. The live atmosphere was thrilling and extremely exciting where the noise of cheers from the audience and cheerleaders was heard every moment Malaysia scored a point and geared towards victory and glory. Wow, that was such a memorable and great show performed by the Malaysian heroes. They really put up a good fight against Denmark and they truly entertained the audience to the max.

Phew, after all those exciting and tough matches, Malaysia finally pulled through the Quarter Final and stormed into the Semi Final. Up next : Malaysia against China !! Needless to say, I really hope to get into the stadium and experience the atmosphere there again. However, I had promised myself to start study for my Final Exam even though I have 2 weeks to prepare. I regard this trip to Bukit Jalil Stadium Putra as a short break and rest so that I can regain my focus and motivation to study hard for my Final Exam. Nevertheless, although I can't go there to support Malaysia, I still can watch the battle through television, with a pile of lecture notes besides me perhaps? Huhu =(

The Final Draft of my Final Exam has been out eventually. It goes like this:

Let's hope miracle will happen once again and Malaysia will be able to upset the first seed, China in the Semi Final. Pray hard for their success.

Home Sweet Home Before Final Exam

As fast as my 2nd year 1st semester in UTP started, it ends yesterday. Well, I cannot say it is truly ended, as everyone is left with the ultimate challenge, Final Exam. But nevertheless, now all of us have a relieved mood and emotion as we are done with the lectures, labs and tutorials this semester. Now, what we all need to do is to focus and make good use of our study week and then face the Final Exam papers in 2 weeks' time.

Hmm, what to do staying in my home? Study? Oh gosh, I am not that nerd and I want to relax. That is why I come back home for 3 days so that I am away from the hectic study life of a student. At least give me some time to refresh my mind so that I can regain the focus and motivation when I go back to UTP on Monday to start utilizing my study week to prepare for my Final Exam. Well, I will be going to KL this Wednesday to watch the Thomas Cup Quarter Final Match !! Hooray !! This is the first time I go to watch Thomas Cup Live at the spot. Since I have almost 2 study weeks, so I still have many time to study. =)

Luck and Fate Versus Potential

Perhaps God heard my voice complaining the lack of luck and fate, a day after I blogged, I received a surprising SMS !! Guess you all can figure out what I got. Yeah !!! Yes !! Yahoo !! Hooray !! I GOT INTO THE CONVO FAIR COMMITTEE 2010 !!! Omg, I can't really believe since if I were selected, I would have got the notification earlier. So at first I really thought I failed.. Huhu.. But now, I am very happy !! Thank God for giving me the chance to join Convo Fair.. Looking forward to it for all the new experience that I shall gain and new friends that I will make in this big event of the year !!

Well, today I just had my audition for performing in DFP. Screwed the side reading part. Overall I can say my performance was average. Indeed the overall average score of all audition participants is around 14 or 15 out of 30 (from the statistics). Guess everyone one of us really need to buck up to improve our skills. Alright, let bygones be bygones. I am going to forget about the audition. It is useless to feel sad or mad about it. Selected or not, again, let the luck and fate decide. Haha. =)

Tomorrow is a public holiday ! It is Perak Sultan's Birthday. Nice !! Plan to utilize it well by studying Sepro as the test will be commenced on Thursday. Oh gosh, I had studied one chapter and I am totally blurred about it. The lecture note is confusing and it is so disorganized until I got a headache when I read through the chapter. Huhu. There is still another chapter for me to finish so I am going to finish that chapter tomorrow no matter what !!

Ok, enough for today. Gona sleep early 2night to have a good rest to finish what I have planned for tomorrow. Good night and sweet dream. Bye ~~

Luck And Fate Aren't On My Side..

Who agrees that sometimes luck and fate are important in our lives? Well, I do agree. Being able to get Petronas Sponsorship to study Chemical Engineering in UTP is my luck and fate. It has changed my entire life.. Same goes to the interview I went 2 days ago for the coming Convo Fair committee recruitment. Having the burning heart and spirit to join Convo Fair committee as this is most probably the last chance for me to join, luck and fate were not on my side. Well, I am not complaining anything as that's why luck and fate exist. You can't do anything about it and all you can do is just to obey, accept and adapt to it. Anyway, this signifies that I am not the appropriate candidate to be chosen to be part of the committee which means I have to improve more. It is the same in real life situation as we can't avoid having to compete with others. Phew, just feeling a bit sad though. By the time next Convo Fair is being held, I will be having my internship and the following year I will be graduating. So Convo Fair Committee, I Will Be Missing You Forever !!.. BYE BYE.. (sob sob).. =(

Let's get over with the sad emotion, there is nothing much I can do though. Can's appeal. There is no more extra chance, no take two. Alright, one thing settled. Next event is MPO (Malaysian Pilharmonik Orchestra). Really hope luck and fate are with me this time. I will try to give my best in the audition this coming Sunday.

I pulled out from the Cameron Trip again.. Sorry to my friends if I disappoint you guys. The hectic schedule really does not favor me to have any vacation in this crucial time. Even though the replacement lab and Thermodynamics test are canceled last minute, that doesn't ease me too much. This means that next week we will be more hectic as I have 2 tests and 2 lab reports to rush. There will be another 2 tests following the week after next week. Besides, I need to start preparing for my last PCS persuasive presentation. Really need to put in a lot of effort as I did quite badly for my PCS technical presentation.. Gambateh Yi Herng !! Endure with it till the end!

Guess that's all I can tell about this time.. Off to dinner, HSE assignment meeting and badminton training later..!! If got excess energy, then I will use it for studying for next week Sepro Test tonight !! Bye..

One Month Before Final Exam

Exactly 4 weeks left before our study week !! Well, we all can't control the speed of passage of time. 24 hours a day is not sufficient to those who can't manage their time well. Hmm, guess I am one of those. Really need to think about time management from now onwards so that I will always be ahead of time.

Recently my emotion is a bit fluctuating as I am in several dilemmas. That is why I am blogging now to relieve my emotion. A lot of things and activities are affecting me. Lets mention about academic first. The second tests of the semester are pouring in starting from this week till the end of April. Well, I consider it OK because those tests aren't commenced in the same week. There are still time gaps in between for me to catch my breath and study. Phew..

Secondly, my involvement in extra curricular activities is giving me a headache. As what I had mentioned in my last post, I am eager to join the coming UTP Convo Fair Committee. However, there is another function pending - Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) whereby the selected UTP Chinese Orchestra members will get to perform in the prestigious function in KLCC. This is an extremely rare and grand occasion. It may be an occasion once a life time!! As such, I am in the situation of standing in middle of T-junction as I am unclear of my commitment's direction, whether to focus on Convo Fair, which I think this is the last chance for me to join before I graduate, or going for DFP performance, which I may regret for the rest of my life if I miss it. By the way, I have to pass the audition if I wish to perform in DFP. As there is a limit on the number of orchestra members to perform, I doubt whether I will be qualified to perform or not with my current standard and level, since there are a lot of orchestra members who are way better than me. The question playing in my mind is WHAT IF I can't get to join BOTH of the events?? I must be very disheartened if that happens to me. Oh please, don't be so cruel to me. I just want to join either one event and please don't fail me twice.

Well, the Langkawi Trip is cancelled and will be replaced with a 2-days-1-night trip to Cameron Highland due to H1N1 cases in Langkawi. So I will be leaving for a short vacation with my friends this weekend ! Initially, my intention of joining this trip is to relax my mind for a while and stay away from my hectic academic schedule temporarily. However, I am worried about the trip now or I should say, I am worried about my time management now. The intention to relax and breath in some cool air in Cameron now has become my burden somehow. As the tests are pouring in within this 3 weeks, I should utilize fully my free time to revise and study for tests. Furthermore, the audition for DFP performance is on this coming Sunday. By right, I should be busy studying for tests and practicing with my flute now in order to get selected for the DFP performance. As such, this trip is affecting me mentally as I don't have much time left to study for tests as well as preparing myself for the coming audition right after I come back from Cameron. So, what should I do??. Huhu..

Guess that is why I feel a bit stress recently because a lot of things and thoughts are affecting me, not to think about the coming Final Exam in one month's time. Well, this is fate and I have to deal with it no matter what. Just hope that I have the strength mentally and physically to handle all those dilemmas and wish that I will be fine handling all those problems. That's all from me this time.. 5 Weeks To Go Before Final Exam

Busyness really does make time pass faster.. Isn't it? The busier you are, the more you feel inadequate having 24 hours a day. The more commitment you are engaged with, the more oblivious you are on the passage of time.. I certainly, absolutely agree on this.

Finally done with the big performance for Chinese Orchestra this sem - One Night In Beijing, I really enjoyed the experience tremendously, from having practices since mid-sem break, until exemption letter to lectures is given to us for rehearsal and eventually the grand performance in front of Menteri Besar of Perak and Rector of UTP. All the hard work had paid off. Thanks to all the committee members and performers that have contributed to make this event a success.

Well, guess that is the end of my commitment in extra curricular activities in UTP this sem. As my blog title sounded, there is not much time left before the Final Exam again. It is just nice for me to regain my full attention and focus on academic now before it is too late. Test 2ssss will be commenced in another 2 weeks time. Due dates of submission of assignments are also approaching.

Oh ya, I will be going to Langkawi Island with my fellow UTP friends from 17-19 April ! I regard that vacation as an energizer for me to continue stay focused on my study. We can't be studying all the time and sometimes some breaks or entertainment are necessary.

Next week will be the committee recruitment of the 10th Convo Fair, 2010. This is the moment I have much awaited for !! Hehe.. Planning to be part of Convo Fair committee is my target for next sem !! Joining at least one big event in one semester is just nice. Hope I really can pull through the interview and get selected for being part of the committee.. I can foresee a lot of new experience that I shall gain if I am lucky enough to be selected.. Wee~~

Busiest Mid Sem Break After Those Busy Study Days :(

My urge to blog disappears every time I want to update my blog. Why is it so? Every time I open my blog page, I remembered there are still lots of tasks and assignments yet to be accomplished. This has been happening to me for the past one month since I came back from Chinese New Year holiday. I have never been able to have a free time to update my blog.

For the past one month I was busy preparing for 1Malaysia Chinese New Year Celebration Night in UTP, IchemE orientation day + Dean List Ceremony, UTP Sports Carnival, UTP Mandarin Debate Oriental Cup and nevertheless unstoppable tests, assignments and presentations. Phew, imagine such situation is haunting you for one month. Hard to bear right? But thank God, I have pulled through it and now there it goes - one week of mid-sem break.

Well, as for the coming mid-semester break, I can't enjoy and relax much either. Busy schedule is still haunting me. Perhaps I can say that this mid-sem break is the busiest one I ever had as I have to spend it in UTP !! How sad is to spend my mid sem break in UTP instead of with my family and friends in Ipoh? I will go back home today and come back to UTP next Tuesday.

To-do-List During Mid-Sem Break:

The most important priority: Intensive Orchestra Practice for the coming Red Sonata Fiesta- One Night In Beijing performance on 26 March in Chancellor Hall. The practice schedule looks torturous: Daily Practice from 8am-12noon, 3-5pm and 8-11pm !! I hate waking up so early for practice la..zZZz.. I have had enough morning class at 8am, shouldn't the practice be scheduled to start the earliest at 9 or 10am? Mid-sem break is the only chance I can wake up late but now it has been deprived by Orchestra Practice.. Haiz.. With this kind of intensive practice, I really hope that our performance will be very successful.
HSE Assignment and 2 Lab Reports. Due date is after mid-sem break.
Study and revise for Process Heat Transfer and HSE tests which are right after mid-sem break !!

With the intensive orchestra practices going on throughout this mid-sem break, I doubt whether I have enough time to do my assignments, lab reports and more importantly, study and revise for PHT and HSE tests and even some free time to rest, sleep and BADMINTON !! Hope I can endure it =S

正月初一头一天，家家户户过新年。一大早，被妈妈叫醒后，没有懒洋洋的躺在床上，就立刻洗脸刷牙。可是，不知是否因昨晚吃太多肉干，今早竟然有点儿泻肚子。所幸的是，那只是维持一下子，全无大碍。

吃过年初一的早饭斋菜后，我们一家人便坐在电视机前观赏农历新年节目。这当然少不了新年歌与舞狮舞龙。随后，便是领红包的好时间了！哈哈。首先是爷爷派给我们一家人，过后便到爸妈派给我们几兄弟。所以，今天我共收了四封红包。好开心咯。不过，我更期待明天初二，当所有姨妈姑姐从吉隆坡回来的时候，我会收到更多的红包~~不是说我贪钱还是什么的，只不过一年只有那么一次，当然是蛮期待的咯。

随后，我们一家人就到神庙膜拜，祈求在新的一年里，不论在学业上，健康上，财运上，人际关系上都有好的开始。所谓：好的开始是成功的一半。

年初一对我来说通常是比较闷的。因为在这天我们一家人都没有什么特别的节目或到别人家拜年。也因如此，我们都是呆在家里和电视作伴。可年初二就大有不同了，亲朋戚友都回来祖父家团圆，气氛融洽无比，当然也少不了麻将声。哈哈。

First day of Chinese New Year, every family is celebrating it ~~ Early in the morning, I woke up by mom. But unlike the usual days, I am not reluctant to wake up. I woke up and without wasting time, went to brush up. But, perhaps I ate too much the night before, I had a bit of stomachache. Luckily, it just lasted for a while.

After having vegetarian meal as our breakfast, we sat in front of television watching the Chinese New Year program which will never lack sight of Chinese New Year songs, Lion and Dragon dances. After that, it was time to receive ang pao !! Haha. First was from my grandpa and then followed by my parents.. Hehe.. Got 4 ang paos today.However, I am looking forward for tomorrow when all my aunts, uncles and relatives come back from KL !! I will get a lot more ang paossss.. Haha.. Not that I am greedy over money but the culture of giving and receiving ang paosss is just one year once, so I am so anticipating for it !!

Next, we proceeded to temple to pray for the betterment of this new year. We pray for the blessings in academic wise, health wise, financial and economy wise, and last but not least the social relationship. I hope that we can start everything in a good and prosperous way in a new year as a good start is the halfway to success..

Well, the first day of Chinese New Year is usually a bit boring to me..This is because we do not have any special plan to celebrate CNY or to visit friends' house. Thus, we will usually stay at home and have television as our companion. However, it is totally different on the second day of CNY as all my relatives will come back from KL. The environment is bustling with noise of joy and laughter plus the sound of Ma Jiong !! Haha..

One Week To Go Before "GONG XI FA CAI"

The second week of the semester ends as fast as how it started. Starting from next week, I guess all UTPians will resume their normal hectic schedule when tutorial and lab commences. Well, assignments and tutorials start to pour in.. I have even got a presentation on the fifth week for Professional Communication Skills (PCS).. Frankly speaking, I do have enough guts to speak in front of people.. Indeed, it is a little bit easier as our PCS lecturer, Ms Chong has helped all of us to recognize and befriend with all the other students in the class.. So it eases our presentation a bit as we all are now friends and we don't have to be afraid or nervous speaking in front of strangers. Just hope that I got enough time to prepare for my first presentation with my group members and we can score well.

Time is approaching to Chinese New Year.. In just one week's time, I will be celebrating CNY with all my relatives coming back from KL and have a lot of fun and great times.. Sadly, the holiday for CNY is not long for UTPians, as usual. At first I plan to skip one day's lectures and coming back on Wednesday night.. But 'thanks' to some lecturers who said they are going to give us QUIZ on the forth week but does not tell us the date, this makes me worried..!! What if I am so unlucky that the lecturers give quizzes on Wednesday?? This means that I have to come back for Wednesday's lectures??? Haiz.. but I am reluctant to do so as I hope to spent more time with my family and relatives during CNY for one year once..Can't the lecturers be more considerate?? .. Should I come back on Wednesday just for the sake of quiz which is uncertain and attending the lectures in the morning ?? I don't have any class in the afternoon and I can utilize the free time well with my relatives if I were at my home ...I am in a real dilemma now. Anyway, I don't want think about that first.. Getting headache once I think about it..

Besides, I am also getting busier preparing for 1Malaysia Chinese New Year Celebration 2010 in UTP on 27th February. As the AHOD of Invitation Department, our department has progress well and up to 85% of completion of our responsibility. This event is first time being held in UTP and I hope that it will be a successful event.

Well, I guess that's all for the update from me.. Got to utilize this weekend to study and catch up with our lecturers and working on tutorials and assignments..

Second Year First Semester in UTP

The semester has started for one week.. As Saturday is Thaipusum, the public holiday is pushed forward to today.. That is why I m free and can come back to my home sweet home ~~ !

The first week is a so-so week as it is still not so hectic to all the UTPians yet.. Tutorials and lab sessions will be commenced from the second and third week onwards.. As such, my first week of second year first semester undergraduate study in UTP is quite relax..I even have not fixed my timetable yet as the registration for some tutorials and lab sessions have yet to be opened. Hmm, wait till you see from the third week onwards, all UTPians will be back to 'normal' !!

Taking 20 credit hours this semester, I feel that it is quite a lot.. If I am not mistaken, I have not taken so much credit hours before since Foundation. This is the first semester I have so many credit hours. Sometimes I did feel worry over my capability of handling such a high 'study load'.. But there is nothing impossible in this world.. As long as I manage my time well, it should not be a problem.. Hope so.. Haha..

There goes my subjects that I have registered for this semester:

Process Heat Transfer - 4 credit hr

Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics - 4 credit hr

Separation Process 1 - 4 credit hr

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) - 2 credit hr

Professional Communication Skills - 3 credit hr

I had added French Language 1 last sem but due to timetable clash, I am forced to drop this subject but to retake it in some other semester in the future.. Really hope to take French Language as knowing one extra language signifies learning a new culture and maybe extremely useful in the future.

Still missing my Minggu Aluan Siswa (MAS) week although it had passed.. Now, I should recollect myself from being too engaged with events and clubs.. Need more focus on my study..

Hi guys, I have been away from my blog for 2 weeks. As some of you maybe oblivious, I was selected as one of the facilitators for the Minggu Aluan Siswa (MAS) Jan 2010 intake.. And I never regret having enjoyed the event so tremendously with all my new friends and seniors, and last but not least, the fresh blood from secondary schools who will become the future leaders..

I have always wanted to be part of the MAS organizing committee as my MAS Jan 2008 had carved a memory in my heart.. It was so meaningful and unforgettable.. As such, I applied for becoming the organizing committee last sem and thank God, I got the rare opportunity to be part of the big family of MAS Facilitator and Organizing Committee.

First time being in Ceremony and Protocol department, I have zero knowledge on what it takes to be a CnP department member. But thanks to Abang Shukur, Ashraf, Kak Dina, and Atikah for guiding and assisting me in all the job scopes. We worked hand in glove with each other and gave our full commitment.. I learnt a lot throughout this two weeks. Not only to mention how to handle a ceremony and the protocols, I learnt how to communicate with people of different races, culture and religions. I got to make friends with a lot of seniors; Abang Muneer, Abang Umair, Abang Kamarulzaman (a funny and 'cute' senior), Abang Nasif, Kak Nadiah and Kak Istiazah and many more buddies.. A round of applause for you all for making this two weeks so unforgettable and fantastic for me.. I will never forget the moment with you guys for the rest of my life. You guys have raised me up..

Still yet to collect all the MAS photos from Azim but I will just upload some here since the Internet connection in V5 is zzZZzzzZZ..

New Challenges Begin !!!

Phew, finally finish packing my stuff already.. Still wondering whether I left any important things to be brought back to UTP or not..Well, if yes, then I have to bring it back on the next journey..

Received a surprise SMS today stating that I have been selected for becoming facilitator for UTP Minggu Aluan Siswa (MAS) for Jan 2010 intake and the training starts tomorrow !!! What ???? I quickly check on my calender and yes, absolutely, it is TOMORROW !!! Kinda surprised by the last minute notification but alright, since I had applied for it last sem and now glad that I am selected, I am game!!

Training will be starting tomorrow so I have to rush back to UTP to attend the training.. The MAS week will start from 16th till 24th January and guess I will have less free time not only to blog, but I have to give up my planned activities such as helping my friends to prepare for the coming National Mandarin Debate Championship and also Chinese Orchestra Practice since this is a very rare occasion that I am involved in MAS as a facilitator.. Will make full use of it to learn and make some new friends and juniors !!

Internet Is Back !!

Hee~~~ Finally the Internet is back.. Owh, it has been 2 weeks I was away from my cyber world until today when I am eventually free from tremendous boredom.. Hehe.. Now I can allocate more time facing my laptop rather than facing the new plasma TV all day long..As a consequence of that, I have finished another drama and started on the new one..Drama spree lol.. Guess I will break the record for finishing 2 dramas in less than one week !! Lol, nothing to be proud about though..

Plan to go back to UTP on 13th Jan, next Wednesday with Hon.. Engaged in helping my friends in preparing for the coming national mandarin debate competition and Chinese Orchestra practice as well as preparing for the coming Chinese New Year Celebration Night in UTP !!!

Time shoots like rockets.. Haha.. I bet everyone is on the state of counting down the time left over for 2009 and welcoming the brand new year 2010. My life has been almost the same these few days.. Besides resuming my badminton training every Sunday, I resume my drama spree..

Xmas Gathering !!

Today is the second time I was on an outing with my fellow secondary school's best buddies.. on this very special day, so it is our "Sam Tet Old Friends Christmas Gathering".. Hehe..

This gathering consisted of a gang of 12; Ooi Siang, Chan Leong, Jo Ee, Yi Yong, Wai Khan, Siang Yuin, Wei Xiang, Kok Yew, Jun Hui, Fatt Chi, Jian Zoing and me.. Wow, that was indeed a big gathering since the previous one was attended by just a few people.. Anyway, we had a ball of time. Watched this movie: Treasure Hunter by Jay Chow.. The graphics were fascinating but the storyline was not so interesting though..

After the movie, we separated and went to window shopping in small gangs.. Today Jusco was crowded with people from all strata of society, mush like traffic jam.. Haha.. However, I bid farewell with all of them one hour later as I planned to have dinner to my family in Pizza Hut to celebrate my brother PMR 8As' good result (heehee~) while they all went to have their dinner somewhere else. Huhu, feel a bit pity and sad for unable to join them for dinner together since this probably will be the last gathering as they have to go back to their universities respectively for their new semester that is going to start soon.. But never mind la, guess there will still be a lot of gatherings in the future to keep in touch and strengthen our friendship..

Last but not least, after almost one week of packing and tidying stuff in my new house, I can say that 90% is settled except waiting for the new plasma TV to arrive and the Internet service to be installed.. Then, I can resume my entertainment: Drama, Dota and Facebook !! Wakaka..

Hmm, this will be a short post.. Starting from tomorrow, my whole family will be busy settling stuff with our new house; packing and tidying the house, moving all the stuff in my current house to the new house.. Huhu.. Think will be away from Internet, Facebook, Drama and Dota for don't know how long since Internet connection is still not installed yet in my new house.. Guess may be away from Internet for a long time until my dad realizes how it feels without Internet as entertainment for us..

Will be off to new house tomorrow (today) 7am to start our busy work till we finally settle down.. Hope can be back as soon as possible as I don't want to die of boredom.. Haha, sounds so serious.. Till I get the new photos of my new house, stay tuned and take care.. Enjoy holiday to the max !!

Can't think of any title for this post, so let it be ^.^ Haha.. Well, it has reached the forth week of my semester break. In simple words, I can say that I have approximate another one month for semester break before my Second Year of Undergraduate Studies starts next year (since I will be going back to UTP one or two weeks earlier to prepare for Mandarin Debate Competition, Chinese New Year 2010 celebration and Chinese Orchestra practice). Wow, I am already preoccupied with so many activities and events even before semester starts. However, I promise myself not to be too active involved in other activities except concentrating on my academic studies as I find out that mainly all the subjects I am going to take next sem is 4 credit hours !! Oh gosh, I have just glanced through the lecture notes for next semester and I can't understand a single thing !!! So psychotic. Huhu..

With the last paper of my sister's SPM challenge commences tomorrow, guess my life will be getting busier as 'officially' I need to assist my parents on packing things to be shifted to our new house. As such, there maybe fewer blog post from tomorrow onwards but I will try my best to update it. Starting another drama this week. Hope that I can have time to enjoy it besides helping my parents. Hehe.

Wonderful KL Trip

3 days 2 nights whizzed by in a flash and my trip to KL and Puchong has just ended. I can say that it was fun and relieved me from the feeling of boredom. At least I got to have a nice holiday with my buddies before I have to help my parents to shift things to our new house. But frankly, I am a bit broke after this trip as I spent more than 300 bucks in three days.Lol, can't imagine how much am I going to spend if I were to live in that hustle and bustle city.

First day of the trip:
Went to KL alone by bus. Met up with Jonathan at Puduraya around 1.30pm. Took a taxi to Sunway Pyramid.. Oh gosh !! It cost 40 bucks !! I don't know whether the price was reasonable or not since there were not much taxi to ask for.. Zzz. Reach Sunway Pyramid at 2pm, joined by Chua and Chrispian. Ate many food and carry out our shopping spree for almost 7 hours !! My legs were overcome by exhaustion.. Huhu, Went for the movie NEW MOON at 9.20pm. Nice and romantic movie, but a bit slow. After that, we bid farewell with Chriss and went to Chua's home.

Second day:
Woke up at 10am due to the tiredness that had taken a toll on us..lol.. Went to KL Central to meet up with Sze Mei and our next destination: TIMES SQUARE.. Continued our shopping spree there and watched another movie: MULAN. Had burger at Subway as lunch and Sze Mei went back at 6pm. Returned to KL Central and had Kenny Roger as dinner after meeting up with Eric. After dinner, we took taxi back to Chua's house as we could not catch the bus at that time.

Third day:
Woke up at 8.45am.. Omg so early. Because Eric and Jonathan were departing to LCCT for their India trip at 10am !! After sending them off and wish them luck, I DOTAed and FACEBOOKed while waiting the time to creep till 2.30pm!! Haha, after having a delicious lunch at Chua's house, his mom fetched me to the nearest Tesco bus station where we parted ways as I began my journey back home. Waited 5 minutes for the right bus to come and it took me 45 minutes to reach KL Central!! Omg a bad thought slipped past my mind: I might not be able to reach Puduraya on time for my bus back to Ipoh would be departing at 3.50pm. By the time I reached KL Central, it was already 3.30pm !! My rushed to my feet trying to get there in time, from KL Central to Masjid Jamek, to Plaza Rakyat. By the time I reached Puduraya and I boarded the bus, I was a "sweat man", haha. Soon 2 minutes later, the bus departed. I realized how lucky I was. If I were to reach Puduraya 2 minutes later, I would have missed my bus worth 17 bucks for the ticket !!

Well, finally I reached home safe and sound but my wallet was bleeding. Haha. The living cost in KL is so high!! Besides, I experienced the hustle and bustle city life of people in KL in which they have to race against time everyday. It is so tense and busy in KL at all times.. Phew.

Yo, finally I can go out for first outing since semester break has started ! Though this outing was kind of short as we just met to have lunch and movie together, but no doubt all of us enjoy meeting each other again and chatted about our own respective lives in our own universities and colleges. This outing consisted of Ooi Siang, Jian Zoing, Jasper, Kok Yew, Tat Mun, Yi Yong, Jo Ee, Jun Xian, Fatt Chi and me.

Well, today I watched 2012 !! A token of appreciation to Jun Xian as he helped us to buy the tickets yesterday, if not, we would all end up watching other movie again as this movie is still a sell out since it is available in cinemas for the two weeks.

I heard too much good comments about this movie and indeed, it turned out to be genuine true. It is a very nice movie in terms of storyline, lessons behind it and most importantly, the graphics are extremely real. Excitement was felt throughout the whole movie and it was thrilling. For those who haven't watched this movie, it is totally worthy to give it a try. It is definitely one of the best movies lately.

Hoping for more outing especially after some of my buddies finish their STPM.. All the best to them and wish them luck.

Four days needed to finish my 50-episode favourite drama 风云2. It is an interesting drama and this is the third time I watch this drama since it was out in the year of 2005. I feel like I have just started watching this drama yesterday. Imagine the attraction of this drama. It is simply "irresistible" and in time to come I may watch this drama over and over again when I feel like it (although I still feel like I am not contented and want to watch this drama again now).. Hehe..Really anticipating the movie version of 风云2 that will be available in cinema very soon !! I think I am not going to miss it..

Hmm, doing nothing much this week since Monday except sitting in front of my computer screen watching Feng Yun 2. Gona start watching the Hong Kong drama that I planned to watch this week and hopefully can finish it by next week..(sounds like the due date of submitting my 'holiday assignment', lol).

Plan to go KL on 8th December for a short holiday with Wee Kheng, Jonathan and Chriss, after which I have to really stick at home to help my parents to move stuff to my new house and do some household chores. =)

First Week of Semester Break

Well, I considered my first week of semester break was not so bored.. Haha.. Think it is just a matter of time before I get bored with the same dull routine that I repeat everyday..

This week I spent my time mostly on surfing Internet, playing Dota, watching drama series and I resume my badminton training today !!! Wow, I had a great time of badminton games with Poh Lun, Poh Wai and other old friends. I sweat a lot today and we enjoyed the 2-hour duration of badminton training. Hope I can have training of this sort every week !! Interesting though the training was, but I was a spent force. It was so exhausting after the training.. Huhu..

Guess will starting to meet some old friends this week for some outing !! Yeah, really anticipating this and planning to watch 2012 with my best friend, Len Ken. Hope this plan can be realized and it has been a long time I didn't meet him. Going to start a new drama series this week !!

End Of Undergraduate First Year in UTP

Yes, that is the end of my First Year undergraduate study in UTP.. Hmm, time really flies at the speed of light huh.. Following my last paper, Introduction To Material Science yesterday is a 2-month semester break !!! This is the fourth 2-month sem break since I pursue my study in UTP.. Although it is not new to me, but a long semester is very much anticipated after having to toil and work hard for 4 months. Somehow I dislike the system in UTP as the timetable for one semester is squeezed in 4 months whereby throughout the four months we are packed with schedules and hardly have time to relax or enjoy. Some students are desperate enough to the extent that they rather sacrifice their sleeping time to have some entertainment. After that, 2 months of long semester break have rendered us in boredom. Why can't UTP lengthen the timetable allocated for a semester so that we can accomplish one semester in a longer duration and thus lessen our stress and burden we have on our study??

Okay, enough said. That is just my opinion. Anyway, guys, I am back for a 2-month semester break !!! That's for sure.. Haha.. The same old life has back to conquer me again. Facebooking, playing computer games, watching lots of drama series and resuming my badminton training will be my temporary life again. Wait, this sem break I have an extra task; helping my parents to handle with any work regarding shifting to my new house !! Yeah !! I am moving to a new environment at the end of this year.

Well, I have started with my first Hong Kong drama today.

Guess going to have drama spree again and would finish 1 drama by at most 1 week.. Haha..

3 Down, 1 More To Go !!!

Hi guys, long time no post from me.. Guess it is the time I need to revive my blog now, after 2 weeks of BOOKing and EXAMing.. Well, I am 90% relieved as I am done with the 3 hardest paper and left with the least important paper, Introduction To Material Science..

A brief review of my performance for the 3 papers:

1. Fluid Mechanics : Quite easy and straight forward for the calculation part except for some theory part which I don't know how to answer and ended up crapping.

2. Structured Programming and Database System: Screw it !! Wth!! It was so hard compared to the past year questions and I was racing against time to finish all the questions but to no avail. Some questions left unanswered and the C++ codes were left uncompleted. Haiz.. Wondering why Engineering Stream student need to take this course.. Will this programming stuff relevant to engineers in their career?? Doubt about that..

3. Material and Energy Balances: Thank God it was not so hard, in fact it was quite easy compared to our tests. At first I doubted about whether did I answer all the questions correctly since I finished all the questions 1 hour earlier before the exam expired.. Really hope to get A for this subject, it's 4 credit hour !!

Well, hard times and good times pass and fly in split seconds. Have to endure with it no matter what circumstances. Left with the last paper on next Tuesday!! After which 2 months of sem break is awaiting for me.. !! Bear with it..

But the way, I will be going home this weekend as it is my new house's launching ceremony !! Haha.. Feel happy when think about it.. Guess that's all I can blog about this time...Will start my preparation for the last subject tomorrow.. Gambateh !!

Exactly One Month of Tests & Final Exam

Countdown: Approximately one month!!

In one month's time is another much anticipating semester break. Well, I guess all the UTPians can't wait any longer to enjoy the 2-month sem break. However, I have to pull through all the tests and Final Exam for exactly one month. 'Bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian'. Guess that's a part of student's reality life. Haha..

Starting from next two weeks, I will have all my subjects' Test 2 being commenced. After that, due to the H1N1 one-week break last time, my STUDY WEEK is being CANCELLED, which means that right after the 2 weeks, Final Exam will begin!! Oh gosh !! I am so slow in studying and learning. Even last time when I had study week, I still couldn't manage to finish studying all the syllabus, how about this time ?? Omg, don't want to imagine that now. Guess I will just try the best out of me. What else to do?? It is too late begging UTP to allocate us a Study Week..

Hope I can be mentally and physically strong and tough enough to withstand all the stress and tension throughout this month.. After which I am FREE again.

Approaching The End Of First Year In UTP

3 more weeks left before the semester Final Exam starts.. In two ticks' time my first year undergraduate study in UTP will come to an end.. Time will just never get tired and goes on infinitely.

Well, I am pretty sure that assignments, tests and projects will come in soon within this 3 weeks' time.. All coursework and syllabus have to be accomplished within this 3 weeks. I don't want to say more about that but let just hope that everything will be going on fine and I will be able to handle them..

Guess that is all I can blog about this time.. I have no inspiration to blog because I want to spent more time on tonnes of assignments, projects and study for the coming tests..

Things Have Been Going On Smoothly & As Planned

Well, today is the third day since I have been back from UTP to enjoy the 10-day mid-sem break.. Things have been going on smoothly and as planned. I can say that I have been enjoying it very well, not to the extent of feeling bored yet. Guess this maybe due to the tasks and commitment I have to accomplish in this mid-sem break, I rarely spend my time on entertainment except playing Dota and Facebooking sometimes, as well as went to badminton training last Sunday to have a good time sweating with Poh Lun and Poh Wai.

In this 3 days I have finished my IMSE study and assignment and the first chapter of Fluid Mechanics. Hmm, guess I am on the right track now and hope I can follow and comply with my planned schedule tightly so that I can spent my time wisely and more importantly, being able to make use of this good opportunity to catch up with lectures and assignments as well as to relax and refresh my mind before facing further challenges again..

Ok, think that's all I can blog about tonight.. Tomorrow is another new beginning and hope that I can continue to complete whatever I have planned..

A Short Break For Me To Catch Up My Breathe

Within the blink of an eye, half of my first year second semester has passed.. And now it is the mid-sem break that I have been anticipating for since long time ago..Phew, the hectic lifestyle has put me in tremendous stress.. I really need a vital break to catch up with my studies and unfortunately, I have to accomplish tonnes of assignments that due after this break, which means there is not much time for me to spent on entertainment this week..

Well, this semester is a bit unlucky to all UTPians as the Study Week for this semester is cancelled to replace the H1N1-break..Omg...!!! And the problem is, soon after UTP reopens, there are only four or five weeks left before Final Exam, which mean we have to really start preparing for it very early, if we don't want to flunk the Final Exam.. Huhu.. Now I really appreciate the Study Week for the past semesters and regret I didn't make use of it to the fullest.

Hectic Schedule..

For 2 weeks I didn't update my blog.. Thanks to the hectic schedule that I have been undergoing.. I am blogging now, but that doesn't mean that I am free from being busy. Just think that I can't abandon my blog too long and let it hibernate..

Well, 30-Hour Famine DIY Camp in UTP had ended last weekend. However it was not so successful as the number of participants turned up was far more less the number of people registered. Well, this camp was first time being held in UTP so it was normal to face some problems and dilemma. Post mortem of the organization of this project has yet to be conducted but I really hope that this project will be continued every year in UTP in the future. Nevertheless, I did enjoy the project tremendously, from being the head of Sponsorship Department and Treasurer, a facilitator during the camp and all the way to Bukit Jalil to experience the massive breakfast with other campers all around Malaysia. 30-Hour Famine rocks !!

What a relief after this project has ended?? No !! As soon as this event has ended, my schedule is bothered by the unstoppable assignments and tests. Well, I know being a student, tests and assignments are unavoidable, but what I hate is all the tests and assignments are pouring in at the same time!!! I will be having 3 tests on the next two weeks. There are still another two subjects which the tests' date haven't been announced yet !! Lets hope that they will not fall on the next two weeks too !! God, I need to breathe in some fresh air and please don't let me suffocate due to the hectic schedule..

Besides, I have to allocate a lot of time on practising my flute as I will be performing in the 'Intro Night' next week.. Huhu.. Four hours of precious time will be gone for tomorrow on orchestra practice.. This indicates that I have even less time to spend on my study and assignments. Even the plan of going Cameron Highland this weekend with my friends has to be postponed.. Zzz..

Ok, I think I have complained a lot.. Just feel a bit motivated after writing this blog since I know clearly how much things awaiting to be accomplished.. Have to stop complaining right now and get to my work so that I can finish all the assignments and start my unstoppable stuDYING and 'book'ing.. I do not like to be a book worm but have to, at least until all the tests is finished.

Since Friday I don't have any lecture and class, this means that I will be having four days of holiday this weekend. Yeah!! Going to manage my time wisely throughout this 4-day holiday to get all my assignments and lab report done and start preparing for tests !!

An Outing Before Going Back To UTP Again!!

Well, after 'rotting' at home and becoming a 'swine' for one week, today is the first day I went out to breath in some fresh air.. Mind you, not the air contaminated with H1N1 virus.. So, relax...

So, this time the gang was made up of all UTPians. It consisted of my beloved seniors: Wei Han, Hun Ming, Irene, batch mate: Hon Lian Hung, and junior: Leong Dong Guo. Our activity was quite simple; watching movie and buying some stuff before going back to UTP. We need to keep some stocks (food) as most of the cafes in UTP will be closed during the Fasting Month of the Muslims..

That's the movie we watched today: G.I.Joe. The graphics of the movie is fascinating and fantastic.. The storyline is quite interesting too.. Erm, I would grade this movie as 8/10.

After the movie, we went to supermarket to buy our stocks.. Haha.. I spent 30 bucks on that.

Around 5pm, we headed to home.. Thanks to Wei Han for fetching me, Hon and Dong Guo back home..

So, it is kinda late now and I have to turn in for the night as tomorrow morning I will be heading back to UTP !!

UTP, here I come.. !! Have to resume study, 'book'ing and 'assignment'ing again.. But it is better than wasting time throughout this week. Cheer up !!

Closure of UTP due to Influenza-Like Illness

Yay, it has come all of a sudden that UTP is closing for one week due to the number of students having Influenza-Like Illness is approaching 200!! This surprise announcement was made abruptly yesterday..

Yesterday, after finished my class at 11a.m., we were confused by the rumours that UTP is going to close on that day itself!! At first, me and my friends doubted about it and thought it was just some rumours that needed to be officially announced... However, the whole university was in chaotic situation and everyone in the hostel was busy packing their things so that they could leave UTP before 3pm as UTP was going to be closed for one week starting from 3pm!! No one would have hoped to be quarantine inside UTP for one week !!

As such, me and my friends hurried back to our rooms and started packing as well!! I immediately called my mom to fetch me before it was too late!! Haha.. So, within 2 hours, UTP was much like a after-war battle field.. Majority of the students had fled, leaving some students marooned in UTP... Huhu, feel pity for them...

There it goes my unexpected holiday from 31 July to 6 August..Just studied for 2 weeks then I get holidays again... Hooray.. But I rather hope UTP can operate normally because I don't want to have replacement classes after this holiday!! =(

Nevertheless, I wish all my friends to take care of themselves properly so that they will remain in their pink of health after UTP reopens... Don't let H1N1 virus ruins our health and disturb our daily life... Take care everyone !!Let us protect ourselves from that dangerous virus!!

My First Year Second Semester Undergraduate Study

Hi, I know I should have written this post earlier but I need some time to settle myself and fix the subjects I am going to take this semester.. Entering the second week of my 1st year 2nd semester, I can say that my study mood is accumulating. It is time to set the right frame of mind to concentrate on my study besides other extra activities like Chinese Orchestra, 30-Hour Famine Project, Mandarin Debate, Rotaract Club (just joined as a member), and .... more activities and clubs to be joined in the future perhaps...??

Sarawak Rocks, No Doubt !! Miss U..

Phew, finally have the free time to settle down after came back from an enjoyable and unforgettable trip in Sarawak!! The trip was totally and extremely awesome, fantastic, memorable, full of fun, laughter and excitements, and bla bla bla.. all the descriptive words and phrases I can't think of now to describe the trip.. In simple words, it had carved a permanent memory in my heart..

I will explain briefly about my trip to Sarawak this time and continue the talking later in other post with some photos yet to be collected from my friends. Till then, be patient ya..

Itinerary of my Sarawak Trip:

Started off my journey to the East Malaysia by visiting Kuala Lumpur first. Staying in Chua Wee Kheng's nice two-and-a-half-storey house in Puchong and went wondering around KL shopping malls, including watching Transformers in Times Square Imax Cinema!! Not forgetting to visit the cyber cafe in Puchong to play our favourite Dota until midnight 4am!! That was insane and crazy..

Landed on the ground of Sarawak in Kuching!! Staying in Kerry's house.. Visited mostly shopping malls and a few museums. Went to Kuching Waterfront and bought some souvenirs there.. Not forgetting to visit the famous Cat Statues in the Miao Miao City and the Cultural Village..Watched the second movie here: State of Play, a bit boring..One special thing I observed in Sarawak is that the structure of the buildings are very different from West Malaysia. Mostly all the buildings adopt the design of having a Cone-shaped roof..

Next destination: Bintulu, a small town with mostly Iban population as residents here.. Stayed in Steward's house.. Visited some small shopping malls, Taman Tumbina (stands for Tumbuhan + Binatang), finally got the opportunity to see Horn bills from near!! Apart from that, we went to the Tanjung Batu Beach and Similajau National Park where we enjoyed the picturesque scenery of the beach and sea. Nice town anyway!!

Climax of the trip: Gua Niah. Omg, we spent almost 6 hours of walking for our adventure into the longest cave, flashing our torch light inside the dark cave made our adventure interesting. We approached ourselves to the nature and explore the pictures of early civilization in Gua Niah.. At the end of our adventure, all of us were a spent force and exhausted.. But it was undoubtedly a must-go destination in Sarawak!!

Final destination: Miri, oil town in Malaysia.. A smaller city than Kuching but is more organized.. Again, shopping malls can't escape from us. Another movie watched: Ice Age 3.. Besides, we went to Petroleum Museum and Miri Handicraft Centre, Miri Public Recreational Park, and Taman Selera Beach.. Bought some Pepper and Kuih Miri from Lawrence's dad's grocery shop!! First time celebrating my birthday in 'oversea', haha.. Thanks to all my friends for their wishes..

That's it.. The summary of the trip.. Tried many tasty and special food in Sarawak too: Kolo Mee, Teh C Special, Seafood, Sago Worm and many more.. The food in Sarawak is as good as Ipoh!!

Last Post Before My Sarawak Trip

Yeah, it is approaching as the speed of light.. Finally, 3 days left before I leave my warm home for the much anticipating Sarawak Trip.. Well, this week has been the busiest week of my semester break. Indeed I really experienced how difficult it was to persuade people to get interested to what you say and then have a discussion with you, not to mention whether successfully getting them to sponsor your event or not.. I was physically tired of walking from shop to shop in Ipoh Parade asking for sponsors, but as I said, I won't give up easily.. Perseverance, patience and persistence are much needed to ensure that I will obtain sufficient sponsors to make this event a success.. This is the strong sense of responsibility that I can't afford to lose out.

Well, I will be leaving home on Sunday afternoon to Kuala Lumpur where I am going to enjoy a few days before set off to Sarawak with my fellow friends on 1st July.. If I am not mistaken, our journey will start at Kuching, the 'miao miao city', then followed by Bintulu and finally in Miri before we end our exploration in Sarawak, the largest state in Malaysia!! I will only be back two weeks later, that is 11 July!!

Ok, it is getting late now, have to turn in for the night (even though it is 2am morning now, lol). Hmm, guess I have to start packing my luggage tomorrow, I mean today.. Haha..

Busiest Week In Semester Break

Frankly, this week will be the busiest moment I will have throughout this semester break. In fact the previous two semester breaks were so bored and dull to me that I did nothing but just wasting time. But it is different this time, I am involved in something meaningful; 30-Hour Famine Event that is going to be held in UTP and Bukit Jalil on 22-23 August.

Well, with the Marketing Proposal is finalized, my Sponsorship Department will start to work on the hardest task; approaching the sponsors and sweet talking to persuade them, being sincere and patient to deal with the companies, and finally be alert at all times to follow up the companies to get their replies. All these undoubtedly requires a lot of effort, time, persistence and perseverance. Nevertheless, nothing comes easily, especially money!! So this is going to be a tough responsibility and that is the reason I took up the post as the Head of Sponsorship Department to experience myself the process of getting sponsors and at the same time nurture my leadership and socializing skills.

Besides, I will be going back to UTP on Tuesday to meet our event's advisor, Mrs Chong to discuss and report our progress to her in addition to seeking her advice and assistance. See, it has already taken me two days just to handle the Sponsorship stuff.

The rest of the days I planned to start packing my luggage for my much anticipated SARAWAK Trip!! The vacation is just around the corner, yeah!! I am desperate for it!! Lol.. Other than packing my luggage, I have to start packing my stuff to be brought back to UTP because after I come back from Sarawak, I will straight away go back to UTP so I don't have time to pack my stuff by then.

Hmm, what else to be done this week?? Yes, my hair!! I have to get my hair cut before I go Sarawak and the next semester starts!! My hair is long and unkempt now and I have to get my hair 'trimmed'.. Haha..

Since I am so busy this week, I guess I don't have the time and chance to start watching my last drama.. Huhu.. What to do? Sacrifice has to be made and I choose to sacrifice my last week of entertainment..

Last but not least, if time allows, I will have my last gathering with my buddies graduated from Matriculation before they further their tertiary studies in local government universities.. Best wishes to them =)

For now, I have been a student for more than 10 years. There is not much changes. But I didn't expect my tertiary study will be in UTP when I handed in the application form for Petronas Scholarship.

Well, tomorrow I am going to have a first meeting with other committee members of Famine 30-Hour Project. Guess it will be a long meeting since we have to discuss and settle a lot of things. After the meeting, our hard work shall begin.

Guess this will be my final Hong Kong Drama this semester break. I have been watching a lot of dramas during this holiday. There is still another week for me to stay at home but I guess I don't have sufficient time for another drama as I will be busy with my Sponsorship Department tasks and get my luggage ready for the Sarawak Trip!! Yeah, the vacation is just around the corner. After this drama, I shall regain my STUDY Mood. Time to be serious again.. Haha..
